I have been a customer of Pit Stop since almost day one. Probably have eaten here at least 100 times and will continue to. Matt and the crew know how to make the best smoked food from here to the Carolinas and that is saying a lot because I’ve had some great bbq from here to there. Keep cranking out the goodness and we will keep coming back!

We had Matt & Pit Stop cater the food for our wedding. Matt is fantastic at communication, responsive, and hilarious. The catering price & service couldn’t be beat, and he even sent photos ahead of time of the plates and silverware that he provided, which was super helpful.
My wife, our guests, and me LOVED the food. Throughout the night (and even the week after) people would talk about how good the food was. This is impressive because our event was over an hour from the Pit Stop location, which shows that Matt is a pro at prepping food and making sure it stays hot until the dinner begins.
Couldn’t recommend Matt & Pit Stop any more.. Absolutely awesome.

The food was fantastic. The only negative is the operating hours, but it is worth the wait. I got the pulled pork platter with mac and cheese and potato salad. All three were excellent.

The Pit Stop was a huge surprise for me. I ordered BBQ chicken to go and it was amazing. I was recommended to get the Mac n cheese and I was not disappointed. If you are looking for some great BBQ I would recommend checking out The Pit Stop and I definitely will be back.

The Pit Stop catered my daughter’s wedding yesterday. The entire process was so easy. Matt set us up with a tasting, his staff was super helpful, ALL of the food was delicious. The couple picked the apps and then brisket, pulled chicken, Mac and cheese, salad and green beans. It was delicious. All questions we had along the way were answered fully. Matt was very reassuring while explaining the process, etc and things worked out seamlessly. We received many compliments on the food. I highly suggest stopping by and paying them a visit and definitely consider them for your catering needs! Thanks again Matt!

Located in a strip mall by Pal’s Diner. This is a small place with no inside seating and a couple of picnic tables outside. Kind of like Subway where you order on one side and pay on the other. Just 1 warning they are only open on Thursday & Friday!
I ordered the 2 meat platter: Brisket and Pulled Pork. It comes with 2 sides: I got Mac n Cheese and Smokey Beans. Plus it comes with a Cornbread Muffin. Both the Brisket and Pulled Pork were very good, however in my opinion the Pulled Pork was by far the best. Pork was top 5 and Brisket Top 10. The Mac n Cheese was ok, not great. The Smokey Beans were very good. Not in my top 5, but very good. The Cornbread was excellent. This was in my top 5. Lastly the bbq sauce was Amazing, One of the best I’ve ever had. Easily in my top 5. I also got an Apple Cobbler with a Caramel Bourbon Sauce on top. It was very yummy.
Overall a 4 1/2 star experience. The sides mean I can’t round up so sadly that means the rating becomes a 4. Will I be back? Yes, good bbq is hard to find and a Great BBQ Sauce is even harder!
I went back today and had the Meatloaf with Baked Beans and Polish Mashed Potatoes. Wow. The Meatloaf was excellent. The Polish Mashed Potatoes are outrageous. Easily in Top 5 best Mashed Potatoes I’ve ever had. Awesome! The beans were much improved and very good. Corn Muffin is still excellent. I even bought a bottle of their bbq sauce.
This is now my new #1 bbq place in Grand Rapids. Sorry Slows I still love you, but Pit Stop is better.

You can tell they know what they are doing, and love doing it. My husband & I booked them for our wedding of 200 guests, and Matt was awesome to work with. We are still getting compliments from guests about how great the food was! They helped with all of our questions, were flexible with changes, and delivered a great experience for us and our guests.
