I really wanted to give Y Knot five stars. My wife and I enjoyed the burnt ends and brisket sandwich, but the spare ribs were too tough. I felt like I was tearing at the ribs like a dog with a chew toy. We also thought that the potato salad fell flat. It was bland and slightly watery, but it had potential. Similarly, the cowboy beans were a little too authentic. The beans were overpowered by a charred/smokey flavor, which I did not enjoy. I’m just glad to have found decent BBQ in Alaska.

Portions are very small for $32
I ordered to go 2 meats 2 sides and opted for brisket and burnt ends my plate was sad. Not sure it was an off day but I got 5 small pieces of burnt ends and 3 slices of thin brisket a roll a small sauce and pickles and onions on the side.
I bit into a piece of burnt ends and so much oil rolled down my face and over all my sweater. Both my coleslaws were very sour I ended up throwing it away.
I will definitely try them again next summer and update review

Finally got around to trying these guys out and I’m glad that we did. My wife and I split a two meat combo, brisket and pulled pork with a side of cowboy beans. Everything was really good. So good we got an extra 1/2 pound of pulled pork to take home. My only recommendation would be to add some chopped brisket to the cowboy beans. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been to Talkeetna a lot and I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on this spot! I stopped by for some burnt ends and let me tell you. They were delicious. The sauce was the best I’ve had and I am so glad I got some food there. This is my new favorite spot when I stop in Talkeetna.

Went here to grab some last minute food on the way out of town.
The staff were very friendly, and the food came out super quick. I’ve tried tons of BBQ in Alaska, and this was really good. Loved the potato salad. And the beans are actually spiced up – which is rare. I would 100% recommend!

I’m eating the brisket Philly right now. It is amazing. This stand has some of the best BBQ I’ve found anywhere. The owner is friendly, professional and an all around meat wizzard! Do it. Eat here!

The place doesn’t look like much but the food is incredible. I love Barbeque and do a lot of barbecuing myself and take pride in my brisket but these guys take it to a whole new level. Awesome. Job well done.
