The service and atmosphere were great! They have six kinds of sauce, which were all pretty tasty. The pulled pork was just meh. We bought two pounds and probably eight ounces of that was gobby fat, and the meat itself didn’t have the taste we were hoping for. Our local BBQ restaurant is seasonal and doesn’t re-open for about six weeks, but we are spoiled by them, so we will just wait for them to open to have BBQ again.

Recently, My Girlfriend, her Daughter & I went to Small Town BBQ. I had never been there before and neither had the girls I was with. It’s almost like a hole in the wall or Mom n Pop style restaurant, which not by any means is that a Bad thing. I was very impressed, and the Food was very good. For me, it was worth the trip to Friendsville, in fact.
The Menu has a wide selection to choose from, keep in mind, this is a BBQ base direction but if you like BBQ as much as I do, it is worth going. I have included in the attached pictures the Menu and pictures of our meals.
My Girlfriend’s son said Mac n Cheese is very good. My Girlfriend and I ordered the Trio Sampler with Fried Okra & Mac N Cheese. My Girlfriend’s daughter ordered the Fat Mac with a side of Potato Salad. About 7 minutes after the girls returned to the Table, the Big Man brought out the food. It smelled heavenly. The 3 of us looked over the different plates and I took pictures of course. We all tried the different foods at the table. The Baked Beans in combination with the Mac n Cheese from the Fat Mac were so good. The Trio Sampler was great, I was more interested in the Pork & Chicken, but I tried the Smoked Bologna, it was tasty but I am not a fan of Bologna in general, However, my Girlfriend and her daughter both enjoyed it. The Pulled pork was so good, and the Pulled Chicken had a depth of Flavor that I could not place, but so good. The Friend Okra was too fried for me and the Mac N Cheese was off the chain, Honestly, I finished the Side of Mac n Cheese before anything else, that is how good it was. Also, at each table, there are Multiple kinds of BBQ Sauces to choose from:

Hickory Bourbon
Gold
Sweet
and others…
Our overall experience at SmallTown BBQ was excellent and we are planning to return soon. I would like to try more things on their Menu.
I am on a High Protein Diet, and they were able to accommodate for my needs.
Their restaurant is clean, plenty of parking, Wheelchair accessible as well, and The Staff are friendly & helpful.

This is a small hole in the wall restaurant that you really have to look to find. But it is worth the try. The portions are decent, they have 6-7 different BBQ sauces to choose from at each table inside their little building, and their food tastes great. The only draw back is it is a bit pricey it was $50 for 2 of us to eat I ordered the trio with okra and Mac $ cheese and my wife ordered the smash burger with potato salad. We will definitely go back just might be a little while.

Quaint bbq spot that delivered on the service and flavor! The dirty dog was SO GOOD and the pulled pork, coleslaw and baked beans hit the spot. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful with our larger group.

My husband brought me here for the first time today and I CANNOT praise this place enough. Super friendly staff, fantastic food, cozy atmosphere.
Upon walking in we were immediately and handed menus. She gave us an amazing run down of the menu that I haven’t heard before; she told us what she didn’t have, what the specials were, any other tidbits we might have asked about before we could have thought about it.
The food was absolutely fantastic and I’ve already told my husband I won’t want to go anywhere else for BBQ again. The pulled pork was unbelievably juicy and tender, and I can’t pick a favorite sauce.
On top of all that, ladies, if you have an emergency, the bathroom provides pads and tampons of varying sizes. That’s a level of attention and care that I’ve not seen before, and it stood out to me!
Absolutely fantastic, and if you’re looking for a new BBQ spot, look no further than Smalltown.

Once again this place has provided great service and served up some absolutely fabulous food. I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven’t already. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked beans, chicken salad wrap were fantastic but that smoked bologna is insanely good.

Had lunch here today (4/18/25 around 4pm). Food was good—I had the pulled pork, fries, and mac & cheese. The fries were really tasty but way too salty. The mac was solid and the pork had good flavor.
The big guy working (possibly the owner?) was great—friendly and welcoming, and seemed to genuinely care about customers.
But I’ve got to mention something that really rubbed me the wrong way. One of the younger employees—a teen girl with brown hair—was polite to our faces but the second she walked away, I overheard her talking trash about my mom to the other staff, saying she was rude. My mom wasn’t rude at all. It was completely uncalled for and honestly killed the vibe. It felt disrespectful and immature, especially coming from someone representing the business.
I want to support this place because the food and ownership seem solid, but that kind of attitude from employees needs to be addressed.

Outstanding bbq! Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, great sides, and all you can drink soda and tea. Portions are great and the quality is even better. The staff are friendly and we live the true small town atmosphere where visitors and locals can relax and hang out.
