Weddings, events and parties, birthdays, anniversary, holidays. Need a custom cake? Having a party and need boxed lunches, cookie/brownie trays? I bake all kinds of cakes, pies, and cookies using family recipes back to my great grandmother. I will also do specialty items or recipes. Follow my website or Facebook Michele’s Bakery and Sweet Shoppe for all upcoming events, ie: 3 D Turkey (Saturday before Thanksgiving) and Gingerbread Houses event (first 2 Saturdays of December) every year, along with tea parties, paint parties, cookie and cake decorating classes. I placed an order with Michele’s Bakery 2 weeks ago. I needed 4 dozen cupcakes & 4 dozen cookies for a baby shower. When I went to pick them up, I couldn’t believe it. They were absolutely breathtaking!!! Not only were they beautiful, but they were the best I have ever had. The next day, I had at least 15 texts asking about who made these delicious treats. We were in search of a local baker for our daughter’s wedding cake. My husband found Michele through recommendations on a facebook post. We liked what we saw on her facebook page, and her website, everything looked beautiful.
I filled out the contact form on her website, and she responded within a couple of hours. We made an appointment to meet with Michele, and to have a tasting. We asked to try the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, and the vanilla cake with raspberry filling and whipped frosting. Both were amazing, Michele was very personable and friendly. A real pleasure to work with.
For the wedding cake, we went with a three tiered cake, the bottom layer was the red velvet with cream cheese filling, and the top two tiers were the vanilla with raspberry filling, and the whole cake was frosted in the whipped frosting. We also ordered 3 dozen cupcakes in the same two flavors.
We have been to several weddings over the years, and even my own wedding, where the cake was mediocre at best, typically dry and kind of tasteless. I can honestly say, the cake and cupcakes that Michele made for our daughter’s wedding is the BEST wedding cake i have ever had, it was so moist and delicious. All of our guests were raving about it.
If you are looking for a great cake for any occasion, I highly recommend Michele’s bakery and sweet shoppe in Hagerstown Maryland.

After two bakeries said they didn’t have any chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing, I found Michele. She said she didn’t have any either, but when I commented that our visiting grandson specifically asked for chocolate on chocolate for his impromptu “almost 5” Birthday party, she offered to make one especially for him. She decorated it beautifully and our little guy said that it tasted “great”! His sister really enjoyed her cake pop too. Thank you Michelle for your kindness and excellent treats!

Cupcakes, cookies and brownies were tasty! Small business with cute decor. Two tables a couple of bar seats and comfy reading chairs with a little library to take a book and leave a book. They have coffee, tea and espresso. There is a nook with local artisans gift items – be sure to check out the wooden cutting boards and platters! This shoppe is tucked away behind a building. Google Maps will take you straight to it and there are signs in the parking lot to direct you. We stopped in on a cold January morning and homemade vegetable soup was bubbling away for the lunch crowd. Will definitely be back and hope to try the soup! Prices were very reasonable! This is a hidden gem!

Probably the best place to ever get a pie! She makes pies that no one else will do, ie mince meat for my Dad. The pies are absolutely delicious! I know she creates other items so I’m sure they are just as delicious. Very reasonably priced and easy to communicate with. This bakery is what businesses should be modeled after.

Amazing customer service and amazing quality! I couldn’t be happier when using Michele’s Bakery and Sweet Shoppe for my sister’s baby shower. The cake was *exactly* like the picture I sent her! And it tasted absolutely delicious. It was ready less than 48hrs of submission request. The service was a quick turn around and very accommodating. Whomever I spoke with on the phone was very sweet when asking to pick up my cake. My brother (the one who actually picked up the cake) said that Michele was extremely nice and easy to work with.
I encourage everyone to support this business. I will 100% be coming back 🙂
