As a resident of Atlanta, I was anxious to try out the newest e
Restaurant in town as we have been watching it be built. My son and I stopped in this past Sunday to try it out.

Atmosphere- As we walked in, we were met by a security guard in full “battle rsttle” to include body armor, handgun, laser, flex cuffs, and a radio. This really blew me away as we have been to the past restaurants in town (Choo Choo Cafe, DeLullos) and have NEVER heard of having armed security. Is there a threat here in town that we do not know about? It was definitely a little disturbing. Other than that, I was surprised at the restaurant not having actual plates and silverware and using plastic/styrofoam to go containers and plastic silverware. The decor was nice though.

Service- We came in about 1 o’clock and were told to sit anywhere we wanted and as there were only about 6 tables full, we sat by the tvs to watch the Colts game. After about 15 min of 2 different waitresses walking past us and a mgr/owner trying to get the tvs working, we asked if we could order. The waitress we had was very polite and apologized as she thought someone else was serving us. The food came out quickly…in the before mentioned to-go containers. Now we fully understand they have only been open for a week, so assuming real plates and utensils are coming.

Food- my son and I had the exact same comment when we discussed the food…it was “okay.” I ordered the rib tips and fries and he ordered a pulled pork sandwich with mac-n-cheese. The meat was pretty tender but the smokey bbq sause was very plain. I expected the sauce to be much more tangy and smoky. The fries were cooked well and the mac-n-cheese was nice and creamy.

In short, I recommend getting rid of the armed security officer, getting real plates & silverware, and adding more smoky flavor to the bbq sauce.

There are many factors that played into this business closing so soon after it opened. So much time, money, reconstruction, remodeling, and furniture was placed into this establishment that it breaks my heart to see it having closed so soon after it opened. But I do understand why it closed. I drive by that place every day to and from work, and there were never more than two or three cars in the parking lot at any given moment of the day or night. And many times there were no cars in the parking lot at all. Some people said the barbecue was bland or weird tasting, and others said it was cold. I never tried it, so I can’t speak for myself about that. But the fact is every restaurant gets negative reviews from finicky people, and they are the ones who tend to leave negative comments, and people with negative reviews tend to be more likely to post them online. At least they still served wine and beer and didn’t go dry. But the main factors are something that many may not want to hear or might agree with what I am saying. The prior restaurant and bar was forcibly closed because of one man’s decision to drive on a motorcycle drunk after he left the establishment. He was killed. Unfortunately, the owners of the restaurant lost everything because of a lawsuit. I am one of those people who believes that people are responsible for their own actions. If we held every alcohol establishment responsible for everything that someone does after leaving the establishments, there would be no bars or restaurants that serve alcohol anywhere in the nation. I think some people had an aversion to the place after they heard the story, realizing that the original owners lost everything that they worked so hard for and after they had built a rapport in the community. Others might have had an aversion to the place because of what happened to the man on the motorcycle. The original establishment had incredible drinks and fantastic pizza. But aside from that, there are other factors, including a horrible Trump economy and the establishment being located in the middle of nowhere. It was just very bad timing and circumstances that led to the demise of this newly opened restaurant. However you look at it, it is very depressing because of how much money and remodeling was put into that place to open a new business that failed so soon after it opened.

My finance and I love trying new restaurants, but we were already warned that the price of the food was on the high side. All I ordered was a pulled pork sandwich. The first one came out and it was refrigerator cold and 50% of the meat was fat and severely squishy. My finance said something to the server and I received another sandwich. That one wasn’t mostly fat or squishy , but it wasn’t very warm either . The staff was super friendly , but 30.00 for a crown and coke with margarita that had missing ingredients is also crazy ! The atmosphere was nice though .

I went opening day, so i will be trying them again once they get a bit more established, but i was pretty disappointed in the food! I got a half rack of ribs and macoroni and cheese. When the food came out, it looked good with the ribs having a nice crust. I, however, found the ribs to be lacking in flavor big time and really quite bland, quite disappointing for a restaurant named for the science of bbq. The macoroni and cheeae wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t anything special just neutral mac and cheese. I also ordered a whiskey and coke which was ok but i thought $12 was pretty steep for a single drink. I will be waiting a month or so and will try again! Really hoping they get the food dialed in as the building and atmosphere were great, as was the staff.

Extremely disappointing—what a letdown!

Where do we even begin? From the moment we walked in, the experience went downhill. No greeting, no host—just grab your own menus and head to a self-service kiosk to order dinner. For a $70 meal for two, we expected at least basic service—maybe a server, maybe even a glass of water? Nope. The only interaction we had with staff was a blunt, “You have to use the kiosk.”

We both ordered the ribs, hoping for that fall-off-the-bone tenderness. Instead, we got tough, dry ribs that even the metal knife provided couldn’t cut through. The sides? Just meh. Mac and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread were all passable, but nothing memorable.

To be fair, the place was clean and had a decent atmosphere. But now we understand why you have to pay before you eat—because if we had paid after, we might have walked. Living just 10 minutes away, I was excited about a new local spot. Sadly, after this experience, we won’t be back

The ribs have a nice dry rub, and are complimented with your choice of three different BBQ sauces! We had the Greens, green beans, and slaw they all were amazing! We will definitely be back.

Food is amazing here! There sauces are some of the best I’ve ever had. Every employee is very nice and always ready to help. If you don’t know what to get, try the pulled pork with any of their sauces. If you like a little spice try the red dirt.
