Went here for Valentine’s Day dinner. Had a reservation already, so no wait to be seated. All of the tables were full inside, but the ambiance didn’t feel crowded at all. There was a specialty valentines theme menu that they had. Even with it being busy this night, our waiter was communicative and attentive throughout the whole night. We were informed early on that the kitchen was a bit busy/getting backed up, so we appreciated the transparency.

To drink: I tried the Sangria (8/10) I enjoyed the flavors; was a simple sangria. And the featured cocktail, Cupids Arrow (10/10) this drink should be on the menu permanently because I’d def dine here again just for this drink. It had a good balance of being fruity, fizzy, and decently strong for a light buzz.

To eat: we started with appetizers, the Fried Green Tomatoes (9/10) I typically don’t like tomatoes, but the batter alone on these had me wanting to order more! They were tasty. The Kale Caesar (8/10) felt like a little more dressing was needed, but it still tasted good. I ordered the Filet Au Poivre (7/10) I requested for my Beef to be medium; however, some bites were medium and some were much more medium rare… a couple burnt ends on some of the asparagus. I enjoyed the seasoning on the meat tho as well as the softness of the potatoes and the creamy pepper sauce. I got to taste a bit of the Santa Fe Chicken Penne and it was very tasty; I was lowkey wishing I had order that myself instead.

For dessert, we tried a slice of the Raspberry & Passion Fruit Mousse Cake (8/10) it was very fruity and sweet, def a “refreshing” sweet treat. Though the flavors were bold and complimented each other decently well, this was not something I’d see myself ordering again honestly.

I was decently pleased overall with everything I had for the night. I can see myself returning to try some other menu items.

My overall rate of experience : 8.5/10

This is such a beautiful restaurant and lovely for a first date. We enjoyed the deviled eggs, charcuterie, salmon, and cesar salad. My only feedback is the deviled eggs had WAY too much mustard, almost inedible. Besides this everything was delectable. Dave provided excellent customer service and cannot wait to be back and see him again!

We picked this restaurant based on the fact that it was the closest cover from the rain, and boy am I glad that nature convened. Everyone was incredibly friendly, the service was Johnny on the spot, and most importantly, the food was out of this world.

We had the bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed figs with a blackberry sauce on top. I would go back just for this item alone. We also tried the druck confit on crostini with gorgonzola (?) and it was tasty as well.

For dinner we tried the beef spare ribs, the drunk duck burger, and the steak au poivre (forgive my spelling if incorrect). Every last detail was delicious. My kid had an off the wall request for an unlisted item, and they accommodated him without batting an eye.

I can’t remember our servers name but she was delightful as well. The atmosphere is very nice where you could easily come dolled up for a special anniversary or birthday, but we rolled in with jeans and hoodies and felt right at home as well.

I literally can’t say enough good things about this place, will definitely revisit.

I was there last Christmas and it was truly a gem! The staff were warm and attentive, which made the experience even better. We started with the gnocchi for appetizers — it was so good I wanted to order another plate! For our entrees, we had the grilled salmon and the filet au poivre. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. I also tried their red sangria. While it was good, the cinnamon bark was a bit overpowering for my taste. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

Place was okay…truffle fries were delicious. Food was okay. My hubby had to return his pork chop and they easily swit h it foe a burger. Fried Chicken on my salad was a little burnt but it had good seasoning. My friends enjoyed their fish tacos and steak. Overall 4.

After leaving a reservation at another place due to poor & slow service, we were advised to try 219 Bistro. We were on a time crunch headed to a show at Chrysler Hall. We were provided a table outside immediately. Then we noticed we had been forgotten about outside! After asking another server about one for our table, Jerry the manager saved the day! He came out and apologized and offered a cocktail on the house (great lemon drops by the way). He came back with our drinks and took our order as well. He was very apologetic and accommodating- we really appreciated it. He brought over our server to introduce and she was apologetic and kind too. My friend got the duck burger and I had the grilled salmon and subbed for the brussels sprouts (I highly suggest the combo). The food was smashingly good. When we asked for our checks, Jerry advised that our meals were on the house and it was the least he could do. We were floored! Such a grand gesture. We weren’t upset and didn’t raise a fuss- that must have been appreciated! We thank you Jerry and will def return. You have big fans on the peninsula!

Good spot; would give 4.5 stars if possible. Drunk duck burger was a bit dry, but all else was great from the green tomato appetizer to the pasta. Prices were also very reasonable, and the waiter was very personable and helpful. If you need to find a place to eat in Norfolk, it is certainly a fine idea to stop in here.

We came for our NYE 2022 dinner. Everything was delicious, service was excellent, and drinks were strong.

I had a couple of dirty martinis, we started with the crab rangoon, and I had a she crab soup. The soup was creamy and delicious. My entree was a pork chop with was perfectly cooked. It came with the most creamy and delicious cauliflower purée I’ve ever tasted. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a delicious meal artfully prepared, our server was friendly & amazing, and we received our food & drinks quickly. All this at an 8:45pm reservation on Valentines Day, after an extremely busy day for the staff. Give this place a try. Kudos to the staff for their part in making our little celebration a lovely & relaxing heart-filled one. ❤️
