We were visiting the area and looking for sushi. They are NOT a sushi restaurant although they do make it. This is a takeout Japanese hibachi restaurant. You would get a higher quality sushi next door at Kroger. There were also only 6-7 booths/tables for seating which were mostly taken by guests awaiting their takeout orders. So, we took our sushi and left. It was definitely sub par quality and tasted fried although we ordered a simple spicy tuna roll, a spicy salmon roll, and a red dragon roll. Even the pickled ginger was not its usual fresh taste. Bottom line, if you enjoy authentic, fresh sushi, this is not your place. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and working hard to get orders out quickly.

Usually have a nice experience with Sumo. This time not so much, even asked them why they looked burnt. Said it wasnt. Got home. It is definitely hard as a rock. 93$ order, you would think you wouldnt torch the food with a tip. Smh

I ordered the teriyaki chicken with fried rice.
I have to say, this was the worst habachi meal I’ve ever had. The chicken was overcooked, the rice was mush, and not a hint of teriyaki. At all. In fact, the whole meal had one single flavor and it was not pleasant. Not a hint of diversity. I hope other items on their menu are better because this just wasn’t it. How disappointing.

Hate to do it but let me help yall out. Food was not fresh at all. Rice tasted like it’s 2-3 days old (yeah I know my rice). Fried sushi batter seems weird to me. The gyoza has that refrigerator taste. TBH, you’re better off getting a sushi in commisary.

These pictures are deceiving! our food was burnt, rice over cooked and mushy veggies. Very disappointing as this place was referred to me. Wishing we could get our hard earned money back, being military and trying out new places is exciting but these types of experiences keeps going to what we know. Never again..

I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo plate and a California roll. The total came out to 18$ which is more pricey in my opinion. I’m just trying to understand why I’m chewing a piece of my sushi and something is not chewing I pull it out my mouth it’s PLASTIC ACTUAL PIECE OF PLASTIC. I called the store and he said that there is no plastic around the sushi and he doesn’t believe me. Why would I lie and he said bring it back for a refund I’m not I’m still going to eat it but u could have gave me coupon rlly . I didn’t pay all that money to be chewing on plastic and then be called a liar GOODBYE
