I recently moved just around the corner from here and decided to give this place a try. An absolutely friendly and welcoming establishment. The food is fresh, the restaurant is extremely clean, and the conversation came easy. I’ve also heard that they’re able to get people in and out, even with long lines, within minutes.

For lunch one day while visiting Buffalo, we decided to bring Ferras Lunch Hour back to our hotel. I got the Buffalo-style chicken w/ lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and mayo. The chicken had a good kick of Buffalo, and the bread was soft. Overall, I highly recommend checking them out whenever you’re in the Buffalo area.

Best lunch in all of Buffalo. I order the turkey sub with extra meat once or twice per week when I’m in the office. You can sit down, but most take out. <$10 for a full sub is insane. Just the right amount of food, too. They also have soups and sides, as well as chips & drinks.

Fera’s is a Downtown jewel for lunch during the work week. Like a time capsule from the past, the unassuming deli serves up fabulous sandwiches, soups and other lunch staples at unbeatable prices (i.e., a turkey sub with finely sliced – almost shredded – turkey breast and all the fixings for $6. Upgrade to a large roll for $1, same for a bag of chips). You’re going to get this meal in less than 5 minutes from when you place it, and even if the line is 15 deep (common between 12:00-12:30), you’re still looking at a 10 minute wait max. The small seating area is all that you need and is covered wall-to-wall with incredible Buffalo memorabilia (and not the stuff from Tully’s, the kind of personalized stuff you want to walk around and stare at).
All this means that you’re going to get reliable, fast service, a great sandwich at a great price, and all within the typical contsraints of the office worker looking to grab a quick bite. There’s a reason Fera’s has been around as long as it has, and I am personally thrilled to get to walk here on my lunch break. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it!

Fera’s Lunch Hour has been a beloved staple in the community since 1987, with locations on Niagara Falls Blvd (original location-closed), Franklin Street (closed), Main Street (closed), and Pearl Street (active and open). From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel like family—always welcoming, always genuine.
The food is consistently top-notch, especially for a deli. Quick, efficient service means you can actually enjoy your lunch break instead of spending it waiting in line. And the prices? Unbeatable. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a lunch date, Fera’s proves that you don’t need to break the bank for a satisfying meal.

I work near Fera’s and it’s a go-to lunch spot for me and many of my coworkers. The food is good and very reasonably priced, with a homemade feel to it. The staff is always kind, and there’s lots of cool historic Buffalo memorabilia and artwork to look at while you wait or eat. The line can get a bit long during the lunch rush, but it always moves pretty quickly and I’ve never had an issue with getting and eating my food within my 1 hour lunch window.

Absolutely fantasic place, stuff and delicious subs. Hidden gem. If I were living in Buffalo, I’d be a loyal customer who eats at Fera’s every day 🙂 Authentic, homemade food cooked and served by people with huge hearts. Soups are fabulous as well!
