Happy I got to check out Amina while visiting Philly. We stopped by for brunch one Saturday afternoon right in the middle of a ice and snow storm so it was pretty chill and laid back. I was told that it’s usually jam packed and energetic but I appreciated the calm that day.

It’s a beautiful and welcoming black owned restaurant. I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful art and decor throughout the space that added to it’s warmth and personality.

Our server was sweet and accommodating which we both appreciated. I kept it simple and ordered a cheeseburger and fries and I also tried the deviled eggs. Everything was pretty good. The burger and the fries were seasoned well and tasty. The deviled eggs had a sprinkle of beef bacon on top that gave it a bust of flavor.

Overall had a good time at Amina. I would love to come back and be a little more adventurous with the menu next time. lol

First time at Amina’s new Germantown location (I’ve been to the old one before) and it did not disappoint. Parking is super convenient with a garage right across the street. The location is also so much more spacious. Brought two friends for their first visit and they loved it—both said they’d be back.

Started with martinis, then appetizers: cornbread with butter (always a win), lobster deviled eggs (10/10, a must-order), and the beignet cheesesteak rolls (also 10/10). For entrées, we had the salmon, short ribs, and lamb lollipops. The stand alone ribs were a 10/10 with huge portions, lamb chops a 9/10. Mashed potatoes could use a little more flavor, but nothing major. Salmon was good with crispy skin, a smaller portion. We also tried the Brussel sprouts which were good.

Dessert was the Caramelized Apple Pie Spring Rolls with ice cream—delicious if you like sweet desserts. Drinks are a bit pricey, but overall the food, portions, and experience were great. Would continue to recommend this spot.

Came for my best friend’s engagement and it was amazing!! Server Mia was kind and checked in on us the perfect amount. The space was beautiful and the food…next level. I am basis to the fried chicken basket since that was my order but whatever dry rub they use – GREAT- and the cornbread was soft and sweet. Included photos of other friend’s dishes and they were all a hit with great portions. Most people took some leftovers home.

Beautiful romatic date spot. Decor coloring screams romance, loved it!!Music was a vibe! Set the mood music, Neyo, Musiq, Jill, India, etc. Went early soon as they opened so it felt like the place was just for us. Food was great for the most part! Deconstructed watermelon cheesecake was awesome, ox tails and sweets well prepped n seasoned, cheesesteak appitizer thingee cute! … but, hubs got a steak that could have been way better. Drinks taste fantastic, but not strong at all. Thats why 4 out of 5 stars- steak n drinks. But, if you dont plan on getting a steak or need your drinks strong just suttle chill smooth, this is a 5 of 5 for you. But I cant say enough. Soooo romantic!!

We drove from central NJ to Amina in PA to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and the place itself was really nice, clean, with beautiful decor and an amazing vibe. Parking was tough since it’s only street parking, and on a Saturday night there was none available, so we ended up leaving the car at the supermarket across the street. We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation, and I even called when they opened to remind them it was for a birthday, and the staff said they’d make a note. When we arrived we still have to wait to get our table which was fine. At first everything was great; we ordered the cheesesteak beignets, which were my favorite because the flavor and cheese just melted in your mouth. We also ordered deviled eggs but were given jalapeño cornbread instead. We didn’t complain since our waitress had recommended the beignets and they were so good, but the jalapeño cornbread was just plain and nothing special. For my main dish I followed her suggestion and got the smothered turkey wings, which were amazing. The turkey was juicy and tender, and I loved the brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes on the side. For dessert we tried the caramelized apple pie spring rolls, but they took a long time to come out. While waiting I reminded the waitress it was my friend’s birthday, and when the dessert finally arrived she just dropped it off, quickly said “happy birthday,” and walked away. I understand Saturdays are busy, but there were four of us and we only got two spoons, no plates, and then she handed us the bill while we were still eating apple pie with our hands, saying other people were waiting for the table. The 20% tip built in our bill felt unfair since the service was rude. Overall the food was really good and the place looks great, but parking is difficult and the service on a busy Saturday night was disappointing.

More than anything, I desire the success of a restaurant as the dedication, time, and passion required to achieve success is not simple. Good food and good service are essential, but having good parking is also crucial. The extra effort of finding parking is worth it, as great food and consistency are key to success.

In this review, starting with the parking situation, it is quite challenging to find a parking spot at this location. Although there are side streets and a second street available, we had to park three blocks away, which was not an issue for me. Personally, I enjoy the exercise but for a higher-end restaurant, valet parking may be necessary. Partnering with a local lot would greatly benefit this location, especially for those who may have physical challenges.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I must say it is quite beautiful. The decor is tastefully chosen, accompanied by wonderful music. The bar area is very nice with comfortable seating, and there are high back booth seating along the walls. The seats are incredibly comfortable, something that some people may overlook. The table setting is luxurious with bone china or porcelain plates, linen napkin service, and classic stemmed water goblets.

We ordered mimosas, and a carafe along with flutes was brought to the table. Classic large four-tined table forks and knives were also provided. For the entrees, my two friends decided to order the stone-ground blue grits with petite greens, and Mississippi Fried catfish, which they both enjoyed. The portion size was quite generous. My companion ordered the king salmon served on top of warm fingerling potato salad, sautéed spinach, and mustard marmalade, which she found delightful. She also ordered a side of smoked turkey collard greens, which were perfect.

As a vegan, I opted for the avocado toast without the poached egg. It was beautifully made with a perfect avocado fan sprinkled with red pepper flakes, Black Eyed Peas caviar underneath, served atop seven grain toast, and garnished with cherry tomato halves. Two things that were missing were the microgreens and breakfast radish, which I only noticed the following morning when reviewing the meal. Attention to detail is crucial, especially with the accessibility of local markets.

The dish was delicious, and when we requested lemons on the side to squeeze over the dish, it enhanced the flavors even more. This meal deserves four stars but could easily be a five-star dish if it were complete. For drinks, we shared mimosas and I also ordered a Savannah glow mocktail with peach, lavender, and lemon topped with a dried lemon wheel, which was delicious. The dessert menu was not available online, but we shared a peach cobbler with a cinnamon sugar crust topped with vanilla ice cream, which was perfectly executed and left us wanting more.

The service was excellent, with Rachel providing exceptional service and Chef Issac showcasing his culinary talent. We look forward to returning for dinner in the future.

This restaurant is amazing!!! I went with a large party(17 guests) and we all enjoyed the food very much. There were no complaints and we all left out full. I ordered the smothered turkey wings amd they were phenomenal. My meal was served in a nice cast iron pot which elevated the presentation. None of the meals came out on the same plate. Every entree type had its own beautiful presentation.

The atmosphere was beautiful. From the lighting to the music, this was a very enjoyable dinner experience. I cannot wait to go back with friends or just a date night with my wife.

Amina is great for a group dinner! Went this week with a group of around 18 colleagues, and Amina stands out as the best food and quickest service for a large group that I can remember. Every dish we had was great, and I’m excited to come back and try more of the menu. Thank you for doing what you do!

Dined at Amina for my birthday a few weeks ago. From the arrival, the service was great. They were able to accommodate a last minute change to our guest count.

Our server was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. She offered great suggestions made sure we received what we ordered.

Our party of 8 ordered a variety of drinks, all of which we enjoyed. The food was on another level! The flavors and presentation were off the charts. I haven’t stopped recommending Amina to everyone.

To finish off the night, the sent over a complimentary dessert for my birthday, which enough to share with the table. Looking forward to going there again soon.
