This is now my new favorite Mexican restaurant! Highly recommend their chicken fajitas. Huge portion sizes and plenty of flavor. Great service. My husband ordered one of their burritos and said his food was really good too.

Portions were plentiful especially considering their prices. The decor inside is welcoming and a unique change from the other local restaurants. Our server did a great job and most importantly our food was delicious! Their birthday dessert is a great way to top a special day. Easily the best Mexican dining experience in the Dayton area.

Overall, El Carreton was decent. The hostess was attentive and asked immediately if I wanted queso. I did and was given it along with chips and salsa quickly. The queso was heavy and flavorful, but the salsa tasted like ketchup to me. I would’ve preferred more flavor and at least a hint of spice.
Despite the restaurant not being busy at all, it took more than 5 minutes to be greeted. The server needed my drink order twice as she forgot the first time. I had already completely finished the chips and queso before getting my drink.
I ordered the Taco Salad Acapulco, and it came out in a proper time. This was very good. Shrimp, steak and chicken all were prepared perfectly. The other ingredients blended flavor well, and the shell was very fresh.
Again, I had some idle time before my server eventually came to check how I was doing and shortly after present my check.
Overall, I wasn’t very impressed with the salsa or service, but everything else was very good. I would likely try to eat here again.

Had a great meal tonight, the food is always good, it seemed like more staff was busily attentive yet it was not full, like other nights (this was Tuesday)
I enjoyed the service and food, the music played did not drown out the upset babies some parents seem to annoy the rest of the place with.
Oh well… I will be back!

We visited El Carreton in Greenville, Ohio today for a yearly luncheon with my husband’s high school graduation class of 1969. What a fantastic choice of restaurants! I liked El Carreton from first look. The decor was simple but very welcoming. I also enjoyed that the piped-in music was Mexican, which added to the atmosphere.

From the start, the staff was very friendly and energetic. We had about 16 people, all paying individually or in small groups. That did not seem to throw our waitress and her helpers in the least. They were all very efficient. I chose the Fundida with steak and chicken, and it was magnificent and came out truly sizzling hot, as did all the meals! It was served with sauteed peppers, tomatoes, and onions and smothered in melted cheese. It came with Mexican rice, lettuce with sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. As if that wasn’t enough, it was also served with 3 warm tortillas– your choice between flour or corn. I HIGHLY recommend this dish. So meaty and satisfying. All the food was delicious and seemingly authentic. What an absolutely great place to dine.
