Reviews
Came here last year with a friend, and when I’m in the area I try to come here as much as I can. I really love the dumplings here, they are really authentic and have really good flavour. There are other things other than dumplings if dumplings are not for you! The family that runs the place here are always super friendly. Definitely worth your money here!
Another option: they sell frozen apps! Pick up some frozen pork buns and go home and steam them yourself for dinner, you’ll be the popular one!
We got the XLBs, string beans, beef noodle soup (we asked to make it spicy), spicy dumplings, & 3 flavor dumplings. All 5 were delicious!
String Beans- tasty, garlicky, wok fried to perfection. Great side addition to our mains.
3 flavor- great taster’s item if you can’t decide what you want. All the dim sum are well portioned for someone hungry patrons so eat up!
Spicy dumplings- Amazing! The greatness of this dish is its simplicity: the pork and Napa cabbage dumplings with spicy chili crunch.
XLB- soup dumplings are pretty standard gout a dim sum place now, but the difference here is it tastes homemade!
Beef noodle soup- Excuse me??! Did you say top tier ? Thought so… a mix of canton style thick noodles, tender tender beef in a savory and tasty beef broth. Asked to make it spicy and it was indeed spicy! I loved every spoonful.
All in all, a great great spot that not too many people would ever think to stop by, but I assure you, you’d be missing out. Skip the lines of those other popular places and come here, you won’t regret it!
The service is great and they always remember us even though we only get to come every 6 months or so. The dining area is quite small, but it doesn’t matter – the dumplings are the best!
2024: Haven’t been able to come for a while and man, still delicious little nuggets of joy! Love these dumplings and the multilayer green onion pancake. Even my girls (7&9) loved the multilayer green onion pancake and the chicken and corn dumplings. They ate the whole dozen of them between them and a piece of the pancake each.
I ordered the 3 flavor dumplings (pork shrimp and chives) and my mom got the fish and chives.
The service was fine, though with only one person working the front she was super busy. We are patient though and got everything we ordered and ate while we were there at one of the 5 small tables.
Ambiance isn’t amazing because it’s so small and a little cramped but the dumplings are definitely worth it. The multilayer pancake is delicious and crispy as well.
I wish we lived closer but sadly I live in Knoxville so I can only come when I visit family. If you love dumplings, you need to visit the House of Dumplings. They sell frozen dumplings you can cook at home too.
The menu doesn’t have any pictures, but you shouldn’t worry, as there are several pictures on the wall. Also, don’t feel shy about asking the waitress for recommendations. She gave us a whole review of what’s popular for each section of the menu. Very friendly.
The food was good. You can tell the dough for the dumplings is all made in-house. All necessary dipping sauces are on the table for you to assemble your own concoction.
The place is a bit small, but I believe they have to-go orders if you can’t get a table.
The beef noodle soup and soup dumplings are my favorite. My brother loves the sesame noodles, which he can’t find most places.
Dine in seating is limited to five tables, but I’ve never had an issue getting a table. They are very accommodating.
I don’t know what it is, but they have the best jasmine tea. I usually bring a container and take any leftover tea.
Green beans- delicious has fried tofu curd slices, which was a nice addition. Overall a bit salty but still well loved
Dumplings – excellent! Have been looking for a tong dumpling replacement since they closed, and this is my new favorite place
Hot and sour soup – pretty standard, decent size portion and had generous amount of ingredients (eg wood ear, carrots, tofu, egg)
Salt and pepper fish fillet- very unassuming and not dressed up dish, but, again, delicious
Green onion pancake- nice, thick, flaky style. Fried, so a bit oily but an absolute treat while hot
Xlb- decent, nothing to write home about but not bad
We came in pretty close to closing, but owner was nice and attentive.
My only complaint is that there was someone in the back / kitchen loudly sneezing, coughing, and clearing phlegm… which was a bit off-putting…
Anyway, still excited to come back and try more dishes. So happy to discover such a great local spot!
Salt and pepper tofu: perfectly crispy light and fresh tofu – yummm
Shanghai soup dumplings: delicious! Perfect amount of soup and meat was tasty
Dumplings: we got the shrimp pork and chives. Tastes good but too much wonton skin for my liking. Would order more soup dumplings instead next time
