Another hidden gem in Huntsville! If you want a solid place to watch the game, good beer, and local beer at that, this is the spot for you. We’d just left the hotel across the street and had started our walk to a pizza place, when someone recognized my Jersey and said we needed to try the fried shrimp across the street at Jefferson St. Pub! It definitely didn’t disappoint. Most foods are fried, but it’s solid grub food to hang out with friends and enjoy yourselves. We stayed the entire time for our game, which we watched on the big screen and on the many TVs surrounding!! The crowd was middle aged/college, so pretty energetic and they had live music starting at 9PM. It was a fun place to hang out, and the Buffalo chicken tenders are delicious. Despite the crowd, we sat on the upper level with no issues and our services was excellent.

What an awesome place. Younger crowd but we didn’t hold that against them. Music was great. Beer was cold and the food was excellent. Had a great time and would definitely go back. HINT: Don’t give up – the alley really is the entrance!!

Can be crowded on Wednesday nights but if you will be patient and friendly you will be able to find a place to sit

DON’T GET ROBBED BY THE BARTENDERS AT JSP! On 15 October 2025, my friend ordered us two shots of Elijah Craig. This little blonde bartender with pigtails said “oh. This one??” and my friend said again… Elijah Craig. Then she swiped his card and handed him a tab for $158!!!!!!!!! For 2 shots!!! He showed me the check and then I got involved and asked for the lead bartender. This guy came over and said, “Well… It’s not like I can put it back in the bottle.” I was like, “Hey guy, this isn’t what we ordered. Who comes in here and gets two shots for $158?? If you’re going to do that to someone, you need to have the decency to let them know. You don’t just pour two shots for $158 and not tell someone so…Go ahead and back that charge off my friend’s card and do the right thing”. He absolutely refused. I couldn’t believe it. We’ve been calling the manager and trying to get this resolved but it doesn’t seem all that important to them to get back to us. $158 for two shots of anything is insane. You should train your emo-style bartender to not rob customers just because it’s $1 beer night and she’s trying to make up for lost money (OBVIOUSLY she’s not getting tipped at 20% on something like that…she shouldn’t be tipped AT ALL). You also need a new bar manager because that guy is not the one. I worked in the service industry and this is the absolute worst bartending I’ve ever known. Really poor form. Shameful. I really hope everyone reads this! Spread the word… DO NOT GET LIQUOR AT JSP FOR ANY REASON UNLESS THIS ISSUE GETS RESOLVED! If it does, I’m happy to talk about removing this post. Let’s do the right thing here, guys. Pay my buddy back and cancel that erroneous charge. Shameful.

Delicious food (although most of it is fried), great drink specials, live music on the weekends, cool two level space, and the best service I’ve ever had. It can be really loud but depending on the time and day, you can get a low key or upbeat experience. Plus, it’s literally in the middle of downtown and close to everything. (Excuse my blurry picture)

I wandered in this place on the suggestion of someone I spoke with at work. The onion rings were delicious. The beer was a bit flat so I don’t think I’ll order it again. There was live music from a band. I enjoyed it. I’ll have to go back when I feel like dancing. #OhMomGod #AttitudeOnGratitude #MomInShaman #ChooseLove #Christed #OddParent #Rise

The food is excellent!! It’s hot. It’s fresh. It’s beautiful. The entire pub is beautiful, but the food…it’s the star. Highly recommend!

I thought we could eat with our 16 and 14 year old at 8:30pm here. It’s kind of slow for a Friday night, and there was no band here. Now I see why. The great management here doesn’t allow a family with children in here to eat. . We walked in , were sat down . We received our drinks, and ordered appetizers. Then we were asked to leave .

Tried to stop in and have a drink before getting our night started on Saturday (night), September 14. Had the absolute worst experience with the female bartender on the right side of the bar. As soon as we got in me and my boyfriend both got a drink, and my friend got a beer. My friend intended to use ApplePay, which is unavailable here, so instead she was going to pull her card number up on her phone so that the bartender could type it in. It was taking a second because her service was bad, but we were for sure sitting at the bar, and obviously not running out on a tab for a beer. The other two drinks were already paid for. Once my boyfriend realized what was happening, he started to get cash out to just cover the drink to save the troubles. Before he could get his money out, another man came up to the bar, was talking to my friend about what was going on, and was seemingly going to cover the drink for her. I don’t know if there was a miscommunication or what exactly happened, but he did in fact pay for her beer (a Miller). I don’t know what this had to do with the bartender, but it definitely rubbed her the wrong way. She came back over to my friend for whatever reason and said in an absurdly rude way, “You MIGHT want to Venmo him,” and walked away. I kinda looked at my friend like what? That was kinda rude but whatever. She asked the man for his Venmo, he didn’t want her to send him the money for the beer. Okay fine we move on. My boyfriend then wants to buy us a shot because we’re obviously getting off to a rough start. We decide we want a shot of Alto’s. Okay so my boyfriend is gonna get us this shot. After a few minutes my boyfriend tells me, “I don’t know which one of you pissed that girl off but she’s definitely not trying to get us a drink.” I’m facing my boyfriend in the chair at this point so my back is more so towards the bartender, so I turn around and sure enough she’s on her phone just scrolling on what looked like Tik Tok. I stayed turning around looking at her until she finally looked up at me, I’m sure because she felt me staring. My boyfriend I believe says, can we get some shot? She asks what we want, I double check with my friend on the Alto’s, and tell the bartender that’s what we want. First she asks me what is Alto’s, which is interesting coming from a bar tender. I have a feeling she knows exactly what Alto’s is, and just wanted to be smart with me. Anyways, I tell her it’s tequila. She says they don’t have Alto’s. I say okay what tequilas do you have? She says they’re over there you can look and see, and walks away. The whole interaction was very ugly and at this point I don’t even want to spend my money with this girl. I turn back to my boyfriend and I tell him nevermind, don’t worry about it anymore. The bartender quickly came back and leaned in towards me and said “and if you wanna get smart about it I can have you all thrown out”……..before I can even look at her or she can get another breath in she’s like “yep security get them out these three.” Now as a bartender myself I’ve been trying hard since Saturday to try and understand what kind of reason we gave her to deserve this kind of treatment. I have debated leaving a review since Saturday but it is STILL bothering me two days later. It was quite embarrassing really. I hope that this is taken seriously and I’ve seen in previous reviews that you sometimes look back at camera footage, and I really hope that you do. If for nothing else just to see that there was no ill intent or ill feelings towards your bartender, but certainly towards us as customers. I could have easily dished back the nasty attitude that she was giving me, and then maybe that would have given her a better reason, but that wasn’t the case. I definitely won’t be back to JSP and it honestly makes me not want to come back to that side of the street at all, seeing as how most of the time the bartenders work around in all other associated bars.
