We have been here twice, apparently the owners had changed somewhat recently. I had not been to a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit before, but I had a nice experience here, and will continue to come here. The first time I came here, the owners were working, and they were super nice and made sure every part of our meal and visit was great. The second time I came here, I did not see the people from last time, but the people working were super nice as well. Tina took our order and our food was brought out to us within 5 minutes. I ordered a pulled pork platter with potato salad and mac & cheese, and my partner ordered a giant baker with pulled pork. The food was absolutely amazing! I really like the mac & cheese. The potato salad is pretty standard. The giant baker is a massive baked potato with butter, sour cream, cheese, and a meat of your choice. It is delicious and very filling! The pulled pork plate is great, too. The barbecue sauce that they use is wonderful, very tangy and savory. I highly recommend this location, it is great. The prices are decently reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get.

I hope the new owners can overcome the damage done by the previous owners because this place is amazing!!! We own Bear Creek Supply which you can see from Dickey’s and we plan to eat her often!! WE got a baked potato topped with chopped brisket and we also got a pulled pork sandwich with beans and potato salad on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious!! We did carry out so I’m not sure what the dine in service is like. They are still trying to find help like all restaurants are these days. But we wish them the best and we are happy to leave an honest 5 star review!!

We are BBQ junkies. Went there today Jan 21st 2024. Ordered Brisket Sandwich and Pulled Pork Plate. Received the worst pork ever. It was just chunky cut up orange looking grizzle that shook like a Jello when touched. Ice cold too. We complained and they gave us 2 individual ribs with no meat on it with some crazy spicy sausage that was too hot to eat. Never seen pulled pork like this before. We left the food on table and walked out. Didn’t even bother asking for $30 refund. The table next to us said the same thing about the pork but they said they didn’t want to complain because they are regulars. The people at the counter said the pork looked normal to them. How is this a pulled pork? See pictures.

We placed our order online and when we got to the restaurant our food wasn’t even ready. Not to mention there weren’t any customers there when we arrived. The fries were soggy. The brisket and pulled pork was dry and the ribs were burnt and tasted like they were cooked a week ago. Also ordered lemon pepper wings and they tasted like how raw chicken smells when it’s been left out. Ordered the Giant Baker and when we got there they were all sold out. The owner asked if we wanted to get something else in its place and suggested more ribs. Now I know why. Probably trying to get rid of those old burnt ribs.
The owner was very apologetic for our food not being ready and was accommodating but the food horrible.

Just awful. No restaurant should be putting out food like this. We ordered ribs, chicken, and burnt ends and they were all completely dried out and salty like jerky. The burnt ends (or maybe it was brisket?) was like strips of plastic and completely inedible. I’ve eaten at other dickey’s franchises and they’ve been fine, but I’d avoid this one.

The sign outside says Under New Management: Service With A Smile and it shows. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent. Bathrooms are a bit snug. The Westerner with the jalapeno cheddar sausage is one of my new favorites.

They are lucky i have to give a star. This was the worst place I have ever been to in my life. Ordered all the meats they had and brisket is a boiled roast, the sausage was like a slim Jim, chicken breast was dry and unseasoned, chicken wings was very very dry. They didn’t even have ice for the drinks. WORST PLACE EVER!!!! Over $100 down the drain. Don’t go to this place in Waynesville, NC!!!!

We have a new restaurant rule thanks to this location. We shall never eat at a restaurant with no vehicles in the parking lot!
The two employees working, were in some side shed and walked into the main restaurant area as we entered.
The kitchen looked into disarray as well as the lobby. I used the restroom after ordering which was disgusting. Paper towels used as toilet paper were visibly overflowing out of the trash can.
As I entered the lobby my wife was standing there and we just locked eyes knowing this wasn’t going to be good.
We received our meal and immediately knew it was old. Parts of the potato salad were dried and hard, the mac and cheese was microwaved hotter than the Sun, and the pork sandwich was cold.
After we sat down the two employees went back into the side shed on the outside of the restaurant. We knew at that point it was time to trash the meal and hit the road.
We will never stop here again!

$22 for dry chicken and 2 sides. Customer service was rude and they were literally out of everything. The Texas Toast was burnt white bread and the 2 bites of chicken had absolutely no flavor.
