Social Profile:

The Grand Olde Station is a premier and authentic restaurant that has been proudly serving the Lake Toxaway area and beyond since 2021. Since then, our mission has been to provide high-quality food for all those that wish to combine fun and enjoyable ambiance with skillful cooking into one extraordinary dining experience. The atmosphere at Grand Olde Station pays homage to the history and splendor of Lake Toxaway, serving almost like a museum in many ways. At one point in the property’s history, it served the town as a train depot, so they have displayed a historic train caboose on site similar to what one would have seen years ago. Also featured are a few wooden boats very much like what would have dotted the lake in the early 1900s, as

Got there early (luckily) there were only 3 other tables full when we got there. Service was slow to start and it went downhill quickly after that. Server said she would bring drinks and rolls, sound good – 30 minutes later we got the rolls!! A very large group wandered in at about 6:45 / 45 minutes after we did – they had drinks , 3 servers and bread (lol) immediately we finally got our meal at 7:20!!! Almost an hour and a half later!!! Steak was beyond over cooked and placed on top of fries that soaked up grease butter etc do I need to explain more?!?!?!?! Oh almost forgot this was my wedding anniversary meal that they totally ruined!
So update on 11/21/2025 :
Talked with manager (Tim) extremely warm and pleasant to talk with. Reassured me that I did pick the right restaurant for my wife and our 18 year anniversary dinner. I will try this restaurant again!!!
Unfortunately one bad apple does ruin the whole bunch and I am assured that this is what happened here. The restaurant is very pleasant and the views are magnificent so I will have faith and try again!
Thank you Tim for your wonderful hospitality and conversation this afternoon

Excelent service from the waitress and management. Manager love to talk about the awsome history of the area and very proud of it. Order some delicious broccoli soup and a burger, cooked perfect. My friend had a bread pudding for desert and it look awesome. Vibes was so relaxed and after riding the motorcycle trough the curved roads I feel very relaxed on the couch next to the fireplace.

2nd visit. On a Saturday in August for lunch. We got right in, Trish the bartender took excellent care of us. We started with the fried pickle spears which actually came out as fried pickle fries combined with a fabulous homemade ranch dip. These were excellent! Actually the best we’ve had! I ordered the Pork Sandwich w/fries & my husband ordered the burger w/fries. The Pork Sandwich was served with sliced thin pork vs pulled(in my head I thought it would be pulled pork) but it was amazing & so glad I ordered it. The fries were simple but good, my only suggestion would be handcut fries or seasoned fries like from brew city. OK so the burger is a tri-meat burger including brisket, pork & beef. He had it prepared medium & it was cooked to perfection. The burger was juicy & the flavor was so good he didn’t add any ketchup. After all that we heard other diners saying how good the bread pudding is but not being a lover of bread pudding we decided on the Lemon-Chello cake & tiramisu to go but once the owner/Manager came over & told us about the bread pudding my husband ordered it. Wow, it’s no bread pudding we’ve ever had, it is an Apple Bourbon infused cake with a crisp top & apple cake bottom. Served with vanilla ice cream, OMG. During our meal the staff stopped by often, bartender, owner & the Sous Chef. Excellent experience! Then we went outside & checked out the very cool & historic grounds then sat in some wonderful high boy Adirondack chairs overlooking Lake Toxaway. Overall we love this place, right down to the dim lit, historical train depot with fireplace & taxidermy. Can’t wait to go back! Pics for attention lol.

What a charming restaurant with great views and tasty food. We went to this restaurant after going on a nearby hike & I’m so glad I stopped. My dryo Goldens were allowed in the patio. The server even brought a big bowl of water without needing to be asked. My burger was cooked perfectly, fries were crispy and the wine was a perfect pairing to the lake views.

Note- my good pic is slightly distorted because it picked up red color from the umbrella.

They have old railroad decor and a caboose since the area once served as an old train depot. It’s beautiful & o appreciate that they are restoring history.

Overall fantastic experience and dinner. The food was incredible, especially the shrimp and grits, the staff were genuine, and the atmosphere was exceptional. With two appetizers, five entrees, and two desserts, are dinner was roughly $150 before tip.

Upon arriving to the parking lot, my family was greeted by a beautiful view of the lake. Although it was cold outside, the view rendered multiple pictures. For good, the bruschetta was delicious and the wings were crispy with a tasty flavor. My wife enjoyed the cheese steak, while my son devoured the chicken and waffles. Our daughter ordered the butter noodles and said, “This is the best restaurant.”

This place is fantastic! I’ve been visiting Lake Toxaway for more than half my life, but I didn’t have a chance to try Grand Olde Station until recently, and my husband and I loved it. My husband has celiac disease, and the bartender was very knowledgeable about cross-contamination. The wings were fantastic, and my husband did not have a reaction (which is huge…we don’t have a great deal of “safe” options in the area). We had a nice bottle of wine and checked out all the memorabilia, as the restaurant basically doubles as a small museum about the Lake Toxaway area. We will definitely be back!

Came here during Labor Day weekend. Was starving after doing an all day hike. Drove through Lake Toxaway and found this hidden gem. Food was so delicious. I ordered a Caesar Salad with blackened salmon, mocktail Moscow mule and hot tea with lemon. The inside is extremely cozy and trendy. Outside seating is catered towards looking out at lake toxaway. We had the most beautiful sunset and golden hour experience here eating and drinking. Friendly staff and they took me in with hiking clothes.

Second time having dinner here and it did not disappoint. The plantain appetizer with chorizo was unbelievable, I could’ve eaten another for dessert. We had a filet and also the shrimp and grits. Both so good. The ambience was on point, there was a jazz guitarist playing covers, and we love the unique interior of the restaurant as well. Just love this place, we will probably come back every time we visit Sapphire in the future. Keep up the great work!
