1. I’m going to start with the safety and concern of the dark parking lot. We arrived at 720pm, there are absolutely NO LIGHTS in the parking lot (not even their sign is lit) my husband almost drove over their curb because you can’t see the parking lot or where to enter. I told him I would run in since I placed the order; well I currently have a boot on my broken foot and I regretted being the one that went in. I couldn’t see an inch in front of my face because of how dark the parking lot was and the concrete is so uneven, I was tripping everywhere. I felt so unstable and scared I was going to fall. I made it to the door using my phone flashlight. When I came out my husband said that another customer got into our truck with him because she couldn’t see which truck was theirs… lol
2. The place: simple with a few chairs to wait for your food and a counter to pay, etc… the hostess was very nice and took my name and I paid her. I ordered the food at 7:08pm and the order was supposed to be ready at 7:30p. There was myself and another couple waiting. I continued to wait and wait and wait, just like the other couple. They asked our names another 2 times, just seemed a bit hectic and unorganized. I finally received my food at 7:50pm. Now they are busy and I understand waiting a little bit longer, so that wasn’t a big deal, just a little more communication would be good for the waiting customers.
3. The food: well this is where I was disappointed. I read all the reviews where people are saying it was delicious etc… we ordered the Philly egg rolls, regular egg rolls, AJ Roll, Hot Lover Roll, Cheese wonton, and Teriyaki Steak Hibachi with fried rice. My husband liked the Philly egg rolls, but I didn’t think they had much flavor. The regular egg roll just tasted like fried wonton paper, no flavor or really crispness, the cheese wontons I was concerned because they weren’t really crispy looking or browned, but these were actually really good; the sushi was cold for it being a tempura and deep fried and again really just tasted like fried wonton paper or grease; my teriyaki steak had absolutely and I mean absolutely no seasoning on it, not even salt, it honestly tasted like it was boiled steak and not grilled at all, there was no teriyaki sauce on it at all; the fried rice was decent, but when I went to put the yum yum sauce on it, I tasted it and it seemed that it was watered down to maybe go further on a busy night. I paid almost $80 (I included a 15% tip) and was just overall disappointed.
This is a new restaurant and I always want to see people succeed and bring new food options to our little community, so I will most likely try it one more time just to see if they were having an off night, but wanted to give my honest opinion. Again please be safe when going at night and trying to walk through the parking lot, that was my biggest concern.
The steak hibachi was jucy and well prepared. The vegetibles were fresh and had good flavor.
I absolutely love salmon sashimi and I get it every new place I try because the quality of the salmon is usually an indicator to me of how good the quality of their ingredients and fish tend to be. The same and sashimi was light, delicate, fresh, and delicious.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for sushi or hibachi.
**note** just so there’s no confusion this place only does to go orders so it is a good idea to place your order online before you arrive and then pick it up, but if you choose to place your order there and wait, my experience the wait time was not bad. They have a kiosk when you first go inside to place your order on but the very nice woman who works there is also happy to help you place your order, and you can call them in as well.
