Had lunch at Bedford House on Bedford Square in the South Side and it was such a wonderful experience. This is definitely not your typical South Side spot. It’s located in a beautiful historic square that feels like stepping back in time, and the building itself is full of character — exposed brick, warm wood finishes, and gorgeous tin ceilings.
The atmosphere is calm and refined with soft background music — perfect for enjoying conversation without feeling rushed.
The cocktails were top notch. They make their own syrups and sours, and the drink menu is creative and well-crafted. You can tell real thought goes into the details.
The lunch menu offered a great variety without being overwhelming. I had the Mediterranean burger with tzatziki, feta, and red onion — absolutely delicious. They make their own breads and many of their sauces in-house, and you can taste the difference. We also shared focaccia with prosciutto, warm brie, and arugula to start — fantastic.
Overall, it feels elevated but still comfortable, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality. I would definitely recommend it for lunch with friends or even a client meeting. A great addition to the South Side.

Genuinely a hidden gem. Great hospitality and the food is probably the most unique and delicious food you’ll find within the area.
They also have parking which was huge for southside.. These guys are the full package and locally owned. Will be back

We happened to come across this cozy upscale restaurant while looking for dinner options on a Sunday night. The food was fantastic! We had a great meal consisting of truffle fries, French onion soup, burgers, Brookie and some beer/wine, and we also had a very sweet young gentleman who was our server. It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood that stands out. We hope to be back soon.

We stppoed in for lunch the other day and had a nice meal and cocktails. My friend and I both got burgers (the Mediterranean and Brandied apple brie burger) both were very good, on house made buns, served with fries. Our appetizer was the house made foccacia (topped with brie, arugula, pan fried prosciutto and hot honey). It was delicious! Tried a few cocktails as well. The midnight margaritas, smoked apple cinnamon old fashioned and the thyme will tell sour. All were amazing! I would definitely recommend this place. It’s beautiful and clean indie, nice, soft music in the background, fresh roses on the tables, and a very friendly & attentive staff. Everyone was so very nice, including the owner. Kudos to the chefs behind the scenes. Looking forward to coming in for dinner soon!

We love trying new restaurants hoping to find that hidden gem and The Bedford House certainly didn’t disappoint. They did an excellent job restoring the historic building with the overall aesthetic being a unique mix of comfort and class.
From the minute we arrived the staff was attentive and had a genuine ease that made us feel like special guests.
The food was exceptional! It was hard to choose from the uniquely curated menu but our food was flavorful, perfectly portioned, and beautifully plated. The goat cheese tartine was amazing and was the ideal appetizer. The French onion soup might be the best I’ve ever had and the whole branzino was something I haven’t stopped talking about. Everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
It would be a great spot for a special event but truthfully was just as an enjoyable for a mid-week meal. I only wish I had saved room for dessert!
We already have plans to return often! What a great addition to the Pittsburgh food scene!

We dug out of the Pittsburgh snow to enjoy a girls night out dinner. Such a beautiful and historic spot right in Southside. There was no wait and plenty of space for small and large parties. The food and drinks were delicious. We enjoyed the burrata for an appetizer, the basil gel was such a cool touch! All 3 of enjoyed beverages from the bar including house made sangria, local beer, and margaritas. We then enjoyed some of their house crafted burgers which were cooked to perfection at the temperature of your choosing. We were way too full for dessert but decided to bring some to go since after hearing they were house made, how can you go wrong! Would recommend Bedford House to anyone wanting to enjoy a night out with family, friends, or just your partner! Will definitely be coming back. Just bummed that my camera didn’t eat before I did to share the beautiful food and drinks!

This was our first visit but won’t be our last! We’re going to love having it in our hood. We were in desperate need of a more sophisticated menu & now we have it. The food was great. Truffle fries clams & chorizo were delish and wings were super crispy – my #1 metric. My favorite part was the cocktail I ordered – the past & cardamom sidecar, which was so yummy.

Went to Bedford House the other night for a work dinner. The very friendly staff took very good care all 10 of us! Food was amazing – even had a visit from the owner who made sure we were happy. Our waitress Carly was so friendly and attentive. So quick on an unfortunate water spill! Bar staff is top notch! Will definitely be back!!

Went in for lunch and loved it! We got the French onion soup, the apple brie burger, and the prosciutto foccacia sandwich. They were all amazing! I regret not taking pics! Also, if they have their home made sangria- you must order it!! This place is a true scratch kitchen! All of the bread and buns are made fresh daily. Our server was really personable and friendly, too. So welcoming! You won’t be dissapointed!
