There isn’t a traditional ham and pate Bahn mi but the grilled meat is excellent and the bread is perfect with a good balance of mayo and vegetables.

I really like the other com tam (broken rice) restaurants in San Jose but because I wanted to go to a shaved ice place in Newark later I figured it would be easier to come here instead and I still think it was a mistake.
The place is huge and that the venue was probably the Mehran that I used to go often which was a Pakistan restaurant so you can host a banquet there.
The service is fine and good enough.
My problem mainly has to do with the food especially the namesake com tam which is not only limited in choice. I’d consider this more of a pho place that happens to have com tam on the menu. The com tam itself is also not very good. Even the rice and the fish sauce are not good because the sauce feels more like dipping sauce for egg rolls than actual fish sauce. The egg cake and the shrimp cake are small and unsavory. The texture feels off as well. They do allow replacing the pork skin with an fried egg which is nice.
The pho are also so so at best. The kids menu exists but not on the menu so you have to ask. The seafood pho states it has squid and shrimps but it’s mostly fish and fake lobster balls. There are so many more better pho places that it makes no sense for me to come back.

First time here – tried #18 Hoanh Thanh Mi Soup with wonton and shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked but the wontons were good! Great broth but a tad on the sweet side. Large portion was appreciated after a long hike.

Really nice staff! They have a great venue for parties and such 🙂 she gave me a small bowl of soup for free! BBQ beef has a great marinade and comes with noodles, veggies, and some peanuts.
They distance everyone very well. Pho was alright, nothing special about it. They give water bottles for water.

This Vietnamese restaurant is quite big, but half of this place is open. I’ve been wondering what’s covered on the right portion of this restaurant. Perhaps a private event that’s going to be hosted? There wasn’t many people when I came in probably because it’s past lunch. Not sure though, but the food is good here.
I like how they served my Grilled Chicken plate along with the mini Pho. I was full after eating them, which is no wonder why it’s a bit expensive to eat here. I did like one of the staff who helps guide people where to sit and also take their orders. In a way, he is entertaining lol
Everything else is good and all, but maybe the place should be renovated so that it fully opens up the whole restaurant and replace lights with better ones, since it’s a bit dark here.

Tried beef rib pho noodle soup ~ very delicious. Could say this is one of the best pho restaurant I have tried so far.
Spicy Beef Noodle isn’t quite up to my expectation though.

Always delicious. Been going for years. Broth is on point and the hospitality of staff is like going into someones home. Very sweet lady at the front. When I get togo she won’t let me tip but I do anyway. Lol good folks and food.

Came on a Friday evening around 10pm. Only about 3 staff front of house so probably understaffed. Unfortunately have to rate this local business low.
Took about 10 min to get our order taken, then about 30 minutes for our order to come out so honestly a long wait. Ordered a chicken bahn mi and their Pho #10.
Bahn mi wasn’t bad, however our pho came with a pretty tiny plate of herbs and bean sprouts so had to ask for another plate. The worst part however, was that some of the cilantro and basil for the Pho and Bahn mi was wilting. So they’re probably using old ingredients.
I did appreciate the ambience was like being back in the early 2000s and that they’re open late.

Food was too expensive for the portion! Taste of food was only okay. Service was terrible! The menu does not say that you can add $2 more for extra large bowl, and the order taker did not even mention about the extra large bowl option until it’s too late. Very disappointed!
Probably will never go back to this place!
