When I came, it was pretty quiet. Had a nice feel. Got a table pretty quickly. The salad bar is, not great for the price that was paid. The steak flavor was good, but the one I got was way too thick. The flavor was on the outside, inside wasn’t very flavorful. The other issue was due to the thickness, and the cook was just off. The outside was med, while the center was pretty raw. Only a small part was cooked to medium rare.

The interior is a little dated, but maybe the look they are going for?

Improvements. Thinner cut steak that’s wider. That way the flavor is more even with each bite. With the salad bar, do more of a spring salad mix, which shouldn’t raise the cost much. The plastic cups, feel cheap, maybe good for kids? But with the price paid, a nice glass cup would feel more worth it. The knife felt really cheap, thin, and not very sharp. All the plates by the salad bar made me wonder how long they had been there, and how much dust/dirt could float onto them. So I would tuck those away. Was also craving fresh baked bread. With low volume though, that may cost to much but would bring a nice warm smell to the restaurant.

It was 7 at night the waitress could care less about being there. I had a lobster tail it was so bland, just no taste. For 50 bucks just bad. My boyfriend had crab legs they tasted ok but not as sweet as snow crab should be. The salad bar was fine until I saw the lady putting old salad bar stuff in the fridge at the end of the night. Just not worth 120 bucks.

Walked in and immediately felt uncomfortable. Very poorly lit. Grills in the middle of the dining room. Also, the decor was extremely outdated.

Staff was extremely friendly

The salad bar was wonderful. I miss going to restaurants with salad bars. Everything looked fresh, and it all tasted good.

Blooming onion was extremely sweet. I am used to a normal onion being used for a blooming onion, not a sweet one. The breading was really good and not excessive.

Steak fries could use some salt.

The ribeye was one of the best cuts of meat I have ever had in a restaurant. Sadly, to make a steak delicious, not only do you need a good cut of meat, but you also need a good seasoning. All I could taste in the seasoning department was seasoned salt. For me, just seasoned salt that is not evenly coated is not remotely enough.

For $50, the portion to price ratio is above expectations, but the price to quality is drastically below.

Food is very bland tasting, bloomin onion is nothing but flavorless greasy onion. Steak was way undercooked. $40 for a meal that wasn’t even worth 1 star.

Stopped for the night at a local hotel and chose Sam’s for dinner. Was seated right away and the hostess took our beverage order. I chose the fried chicken and she did chicken strips. Salad bar came with the meal so we both made a salad plate. Food came hot, and in a timely manner. Only real snag was my fried chicken was not totally cooked all the way, second time it arrived it was done.

I rarely leave negative reviews. If I do not enjoy a place, I usually just move on and hope for a better experience the next time. This was my second visit to Sam’s Steakhouse and I am honestly flabbergasted by both experiences.

The restaurant is marketed and priced like a steakhouse, but the atmosphere does not match. The décor feels more like a family diner, and the cooking setup in the middle of the dining room gives off Hibachi-style vibes even though it is not Hibachi. The man at the grill, who appeared to be the owner, spent much of the time loudly barking orders at the staff in a way that came across as distasteful. The servers seemed intimidated by him and overly apologetic, which was uncomfortable to watch.

Both times I visited, I came alone and ordered a steak. Each time I waited over an hour. On this visit, my steak was mistakenly delivered to another table. I overheard the owner instruct the server to retrieve it. Thankfully, someone had already touched the plate so they did not try to bring it back to me. No one informed me that a new steak would be started from scratch, although I could see and hear everything because of the open setup.

While waiting, I ate the included salad. After sitting for so long I told my server I did not have time to wait any longer and asked to only be charged for the salad. The bill was seventeen dollars for the salad alone. The server, who seemed to understand my frustration, gave me the impression that this was not the first time she had been in this situation.

The overall experience was frustrating, the atmosphere did not feel polished, and the service did not match the price point. My steak alone would have been about forty dollars, and nothing about the environment, the food, or the management made it feel worth it.

Ribs where warm not hot. I thought maybe it was an accident with the ribs being barely warm. But the second time I went the ribs where worse. Lukewarm but burned with a little barbecue sauce squeezed across the top. I managed to eat 2 ribs and chased them down with Ice tea. My dog ate the rest. If you want sweet tea be prepared to open many little packets since sweet tea is not an option
No wonder it’s always empty besides being way overpriced.
Definitely not what you expect from a high Priced Steakhouse..

last place open for the night besides usual truck stop limited, unhealthy options. So glad I ordered shrimp & noodles the sauce is amazing, a few shrimps, good size, cooked just right. Finish with garlic bread piping hot, wash down with unsweetened ice tea. Can go to bed with a full belly. Thanks for being open till 9 PM on a random tuesday 😉
