Our go-to ice cream place in the Birmingham area! Since growing up with it in Pittsburgh, I have always considered Bruster’s to be the best ice cream chain out there, and it was amazing to find them down here. This particular location is staffed by a great crew who are unfailingly friendly, patient, and helpful. Only outside seating is available, but there are plenty of benches and tables, and even a playset for kids. There is also a drive-through.
The ice cream is always made on-location, (and you can sign up for notifications when specific flavors are made), so the flavors available at any given time vary. Personal favorites include chocolate raspberry truffle, pumpkin pie, eggnog, and snickerdoodle. Smalls include two scoops, so there’s always an opportunity to try more flavors. Their milkshakes are fantastic as well (can be made with any flavor), especially a classic vanilla malt.

Got a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake for my son’s bday on saturday from the premade cooler, we didn’t order so maybe this had someone to do with it? Aged? Either way if this is this case maybe it shouldnt have been sold? Idk.
It honestly just was NOT good. It was acceptable but for a $40 cake Publix would blow this outta the water.
The employees were very friendly tho.
The cake part was just dry and gooey at the same time (how?) And the icing part tasted like cheap chemically artificial flavoring. The whipped cream didn’t feel or taste like whipped cream or close to it, Ice cream part was so so.
We had 10-15 people/mostly kids who all love this flavor and had over half of this basic round cake left with most pieces not eaten, the rest was unanimously decided to trash. We normally go to other places for this but we had a last min change of plans which it did offer us what we were searching for but for cost we are just gonna stick to Publix or make our own next year for cake we actually enjoy

Craving for ice cream while driving almost 7 hours from Florida on way back to Ohio. I Googled for an ice cream shop off I-65N and this comes up. It is not really off the highway as you would need to drive additional 5 miles to get to it. If you are driving night time, it will be very dark route to get to it. However, it is totally worth it!!! I don’t know why it is called REAL Ice Cream and i dont know what are considered FAKE ice cream, lol. But this was the best decision we ever made! I get vanilla ice cream for the kids, my friend got strawberry cream, i got the chocolate coconut almond. They tasted so good, i wish i could have bought a whole galloon! I wish they have more locations for sure!

Great service and amazing ice cream. Hadn’t been to one of these since they all closed up shop in SC. Lots of ice cream options here to chose from and its a short drive from Oak Mountain State Park.
We saw a rainbow the night we were there getting ice cream.

Why do you have to ALWAYS ASK for napkins? Ugh. And touching the cone without plastic glues. This is very unsanitary Nasty ah!
