Great place and atmosphere. My husband had the Chicken fried and it was done on the flat top not greasy.

BEST DONUTS EVER!!! We stopped in for lunch and the donuts called our name. We gave them a try and they knocked our socks off! As for lunch, it was a pretty pedestrian menu. We had a grilled ham and cheese and a turkey sandwich. Both were perfectly fine. But the donuts are where it’s at!

Simple menu but great taste. I just had a plain grilled cheese sandwich and seasoned waffle fries. My husband had a patty melt. We were both pleased with the taste, quality and value of our meals. The pastries looked divine but we passed (now regretting)on getting some. I highly recommend this little restaurant to anyone staying in or passing through Hot Springs, SD.

Got breakfast here two days in a row while staying in Hot Springs. Home cooking is always a winner, especially for breakfast, and they don’t disappoint. The corned beef hash and the biscuits and gravy were great. That said, they do appear to cook with a lot of oil, so those with sensitive stomachs beware. They also have a wide selection of baked goods, which we tried a fair amount of. Their breads are delicious (try the jalapeno cheddar) and the rhubarb bread pudding was sinful. The muffins were a bit dry and disappointing, as were the biscuits, but overall this was a good find, and to top it off there’s a nice view of the falls across the street.

We visited this local breakfast and lunch restaurant while on vacation in Hot Springs. The restaurant is inside a bakery. I ordered the sausage and cheese omelet and declined the toast. I added a side if sausage gravy and it was a good thing I did. The omelet was dry and over cooked. I asked the server for salsa which she brought to our table. The salsa was served in a tiny plastic medicine size ‘cup’, about 1 tablespoons worth. It probably came from a jar or worse, a plastic jug. The sausage gravy was very thick, almost pudding like. When we ate it was about one hour before they closed, so the gravy was probably the best part of the meal for me. My companion ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. She enjoyed her breakfast and was satisfied. I was disappointed. May go back on our next trip Hot Springs.

Wonderful small bakery and breakfast and lunch diner. Famous for their breads and pastries. We are out of town visitors, but you could easily see that this is where the locals come to eat and socialize. So much so that when the wait staff was obviously over stretched by the crowd, some of the patrons took the liberty of getting up and helping to clean tables, set tables, and pour coffee/give out menus. It was greatly appreciated by the waitress and good for us to see everyone pitching in. Our meals were served promptly and very good. We will go back for lunch before we head out of town next week.

I was craving biscuits with sausage gravy. They have homemade biscuits with the best sausage gravy, extremely nice staff, good prices and as you approach the cashier area, you pass all the baked goods, ah, peanut butter I fused rice krispie treat with fudge on top. I love South Dakota!

Best breakfast I have had in a long time. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Hot springs SD. Service was wonderful, we had enough time to look over menu and food came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere is great for the Cafe. Everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend eating here.
