We had a wonderful dinner last night: lamb madras, butter chicken, palak paneer, rice, garlic naan. We were so full but couldn’t pass up on dessert and the kheer was a perfect ending to our meal.

I was very much looking forward to the restaurant. It is a smaller establishment and cute. The man serving me was very attentive and friendly. For what you pay, the portions are very very small. I had the house special chicken it is a bit sweet and spicy. It had a nice thick cream and tasted good. The chicken seemed fine but ever since eating it it made me have to use the toliet…. Ive never had stomach aches in 17 years of traveling to Costa rica. I had a bit of left overs the next day and stomach got bloated and same thing. Maybe the spices don’t agree with me. I eat Indian often and haven’t had this problem. Otherwise its a nice resturaunts.

Love this place! We came here on our first night in San Jose (Saturday) and it was completely empty. We couldn’t believe it because it was great.

The naan is fantastic and there are so many different options to choose from. They were very understanding about my dietary restrictions and we ordered a we appetizers, some rice and a vegetarian entree.

The samosas were amazing. Huge flavor bomb! The rice and eggplant/potato entree was not properly seasoned but we used the green sauce they put on the table and it made the dish work.

Overall I would recommend this place, but I definitely think they could up their seasoning game. Indian food is all about the seasonings and that would bring this from a 4 star experience to a 5 star across the board.

Fatastic and authentic Indian food. Located in a large and well decorated space, it’s well worth a visit. All dishes are made fresh and are delicious. Great selection of drinks from the bar. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

A Fine Indian restaurant serving very delicious authentic Indian food. The staff catered to our request and made the Tandoori chicken 10/10 spice at our ask- very flavorful and delicious food. We ordered Amritsari fish in appetizer, tandoori chicken, chilli garlic naan and Dal Tadka for main- super flavorful and yummy! Their spicy jalapeño (yellow color) sauce is super delicious- if you’re a spice lover like us!

Delicious Indian cuisine in Costa Rica. I eat a lot of Indian food in the United States and this was better than most restaurants I have dined at in the US. The owner and chef is very friendly and talented. In addition, he seems to be fluent in several languages

Go here!! The food was absolutely EPIC!! Met the owner of the restaurant, Avatar, he is absolutely amazing and super cool to hang out with – we ended up spending 4 hours there without noticing.

Avatar created us two dishes not on the menu, one of which was a coconut based curry with fish (non-spicy, sweet and creamy) and the other was a super spicy chicken curry. Both were such amazing compliments to each other, I was able to eat both (one bite of coconut curry and one bite of super spicy; and normally i can not eat spicy!!). The flavors were so amazing, you could taste the different flavors in each bite as it slowly dissolved on your tongue one flavor at a time … I can’t even begin to describe how epic the dishes were. Let’s also not forget the garlic naan ♥ My absolute ‘boring’ but FAVORITE dish … mmm garlic naan.

Lastly, you must absolutely try the PISTA KULFI (Indian style pistachio ice cream) and MANGO KULFI (Indian style mango ice cream). They are not just your regular ice cream, cut into tiny little cubes and served on a little plate, it may not look like much but it was the perfect amount of savory post-dinner sweetness. I can’t even decide on which flavor i like more – maybe the mango – but both are good.

Definitely recommend stopping by this place – there is plentiful parking out front in the plaza. The value for the quality and flavor of this place is reasonable and I have to say, I think I like this place more than Taj Mahal (around the corner). Both are good, but if I would definitely return here!

I’ve been visiting this Indian restaurant in San Jose (Costa Rica) regularly for the past two months, and it genuinely feels like a second home. As someone who traveled here from India, I never thought I’d find such authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine in the heart of Central America. But this place is a hidden gem—each dish is rich in taste, made with love, and brings back the comfort of home-cooked meals.

From buttery naans and perfectly spiced curries to flavorful biryanis and delicious chaats, everything on the menu is consistently top-notch. The quality, freshness, and authenticity of the food have kept me coming back again and again.

What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They are some of the warmest and most genuine people I’ve met—always greeting with a smile, remembering your preferences, and making sure you feel taken care of. Their hospitality and attention to detail make the whole experience even more special.

Whether you’re an Indian living abroad, a traveler missing home, or someone curious to explore Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal—it’s a taste of home.
