At our Tupelo, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Overall good experience. Had to wait a minute for order to be taken but everyone was very nice and polite. Fried foods were cooked just right in fresh oil. Husband commented on having gotten one of the best and biggest pieces of fish he has gotten in forever. Dinning area and bathroom were both clean. I miss being able to get my own condiments but the lady wasn’t stingy at all, which has been the case at other Captain Ds. Oh and I think the cooks forgot to put my bread on my plate but I never eat it anyway, so wasn’t a big deal for me. Make sure you double check your plate.

This locations food quality is not the same. The fish pieces are so small now, and it’s not golden brown and crispy like it used to be, you want golden brown n crispy fush your wait is 15 to 30 min. The customer service is still good, and the drive thru service is ok, but if you go inside, plan to wait. Check order before leaving.

I went through the drive through. I hadn’t had captain Ds in years!! It was ok it has changed since I was living in Florida. The taste and how they cook it and how the fillets looked. It was different.

Horrible front desk customer service, she didn’t listen to what I asked for, had to repeat myself several times on the order, she lost the order and overcharged me. Food was ok but nothing to brag about. Won’t be coming here again anytime soon.

I don’t like being lied to…
Got a family meal and requested plenty of cocktail and tartar sauce. Waited 20 minutes to get the food and saw there was no sauce in the bag. I asked the lady if there was sauce because I didn’t see anything. She looked me straight in my eyes and told me it was in the boxes. It was my fault for trusting her. I get home and guess what was NOT in the box? You guessed it. Just lazy, but can you really expect anything better?

I was not acknowledged until stood at register for almost 10 minutes. Rude!! A worker getting off started my order. Better customer service is needed!! Food was really good and well prepared though.

Food was cold. Over baked stuffed baked potatoes came out dry with absolutely nothing on it. Had to go back and ask for the butter but the potato was so cold that it wouldn’t melt. The service was terrible. The cashier argued with my husband when he pointed to our food and said it wasn’t ready. The rice was hard. We could have had a nice dinner together in a nice restaurant for what it cost. We would go there again.

I ordered the NEW Seafood Trio with Crispy JUMBO Fish Tender. It’s hard to tell in the pic but, if any of it is JUMBO I would hate to see the regular size. I think they got my fish from the minnow pond. Lol I got 2 tartar for 2 pieces of fish an 2 cocktail for 3 small shrimp also 2 containers of lemon JUICE, not lemon wedge. Fish was okay, I have had better. Not sure it was worth $8.00.

The dining trash area needed cleaning. There was nowhere to put the trays. The floor around the drink area had spilled ketchup. My husband’s shrimp however was enedible!! Ugh. The lady at the counter was friendly and my fish was good.
