I recently visited, and it was a truly pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and we were seated right on time for our reservation always a great first impression.

For my meal, I ordered the penne vodka with chicken, and it was excellent. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the chicken was cooked just right. My wife had the chicken parmigiana, which she absolutely loved. Both dishes were hearty, comforting, and exactly what you hope for from a good Italian restaurant.

Overall, Scopa delivered great service, delicious food, and an enjoyable dining atmosphere. We’ll definitely be returning.

We went to Scopa with two other couples and honestly didn’t expect it to be as great as it was. We had a 7:30 reservation on a Friday night, and even though the place was completely packed, our table was ready right away (the only one open), and we were seated immediately.

From the moment we sat down, the staff was super friendly and attentive. They brought out fresh complimentary bread right away, which was a great start. The drinks were excellent, the mistletoe margarita ended up being a favorite across the table.

Food wise, everything was a hit. One person ordered the salmon and couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. Another got the seafood risotto, which looked amazing and apparently tasted even better. My wife ordered the veal piccata and loved it. I ordered the di mare, it didn’t come out as spicy as I usually like at first, but I mentioned it to our server and it was taken care of immediately. It came back perfectly spiced and exactly how I wanted it.

Everyone left happy and very full, the portions are definitely generous. Overall, it was a really great experience. The only small thing to note is that it does get a little loud, but it was a busy Friday night, so that’s totally expected.

Highly recommend Scopa. Can’t wait to come back in the warmer months and sit outside on the patio.

Had the pleasure of dinning out tonight with my son at SCOPA! It was absolutely delicious! It was pretty busy for a cold Monday evening. Inside was very festive with beautiful decor. They brought us fresh bread with dipping oil that was addictive. We started with the crab cakes which was served with an amazing sauce. We usually get the calamari which is always delicious but figured we would try something different. It did not disappoint! Our waitress Angelina was very attentive and right on whenever we needed anything. After the delicious crabcakes, I ordered the SCOPA haddock which came over risotto. This dish speaks for itself! Every bite just got better and better! My son got the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, he thought every bite had a nice blend of spice and heat, but not overpowering. The shrimp itself was cooked to perfection and there must of been at least 6 of them. He topped it off with a brownie sundae which came with a hot brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped and chocolate drizzle. An A+ evening, can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

We had a great dinner at Scopa. The drinks are fantastic the food very good and the dishes large enough to share. We started with oysters, calamari (with lots of peppers) and the garden and caprese salads. Then we ordered 2 Di Mare 1 in Fra Diavolo sauce (nice and spicy) and 1 white wine. And a linguine in clams that came with more clams than any Italian place we’ve tried. 3 dishes was enough for 5 people to share. The restaurant is beautiful and I can’t wait to come back and sit on the patio next time.

Update: went back and tried the veal Marsala. May be the best Marsala I’ve had in a very long time.

Stopped by for some lunch yday and we wanted to try a new Italian spot. Prices are wildly cheap. The food tastes like it too.

To start, we walked ourselves in per the “Seat yourself” notice posted up. The entrance was nice, but having someone to greet us and walk all the way to the back would have been nicer. Decor gives off modern in the restaurant itself but on the way in it’s very old and rich in photos of what seems like historic moments. It had that traditional family owned Italian Restaurant feel. Anyways we get in a the place is Empty with a couple of ppl at the bar. We seat ourselves and immediately moved because our table was wobbly.

We sit, wait 5 mins for someone to say hi and then we get our menus and bread. 1/5 for the bread. It was cold.

We ordered a moscato , Sauvignon blanc for drinks. There was a piece of shattered glass on the rim of my glass and I felt it poke at my lips. When I saw what it was, I was immediately already feeling like it was gna go downhill.

Tatianna got me a new glass, which I appreciated.

We ordered the meatballs for an app. Chicken picatta and chicken parm. Very traditional. Meatballs had no flavor. Just tastes like ground beef in a sauce which to my surprise wasn’t a traditional nonis? Just a smooth gravy.

The chicken piccata had more of the vegetables than the actual chicken itself. And my husbands chicken parm was bland.

Idk. We didn’t taste anything of the north end. Maybe we had a bad visit but everything took so long to get to us while there was literal 7 other ppl in the place.

Scopa is such a great little spot on the Saugus / Lynn line. I love the hallway when you walk in. Old school Italian pictures and a cozy feel. When you sit down you’re immediately given this warm focaccia. The focaccia is paired with this amazing dipping oil. The service was great, the entire staff was accommodating and so friendly and nice. For the food, it’s fantastic. I really can’t stress it enough. Probably the best meal I’ve had in the last couple of years on the North Shore. I had the Miguel with the homemade fusilli. My friend had the chicken parm with linguini. Both were delicious. My other friend had the orecchiette with sausage and honestly that was one of the best dishes I’ve tried in a while. The night was topped off with limoncello shots. GREAT PLACE. We will be back a lot!

Scopa is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants on the North Shore. The food is outstanding, you can taste the freshness in every bite, especially the homemade pasta and sauces. The atmosphere is warm and modern without feeling pretentious, and the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive.

I went in expecting a good meal and left already planning my next visit. Portion sizes are generous, the cocktails are excellent, and the overall experience feels like something you’d find in Boston’s North End…just without the hassle of parking or crowds. Highly recommend for date nights, family dinners, or anyone who just loves great Italian food done right.
