Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He was very attentive to my mom’s mushroom allergy and helped make alterations to her dishes so there wouldn’t be any issues. He brought us sparkling water and bread, then gave great drink recommendations. My mom had an Aperol spritz and I ordered the What-a-Peach. My cocktail was one of the best I’ve had — perfectly peachy without being candy-sweet. The Aperol spritz was nice as well, and both drinks were a good size.
For an appetizer, we had the burrata. It came with two balls of burrata, a generous amount of prosciutto, and two large pieces of bruschetta. It was a good size for the two of us but would have easily worked for 3–4 people. For entrées, I had the tortiglioni salsiccia piccante, and my mom ordered the pappardelle with short rib (sans mushrooms), plus a side of broccoli rabe. All the dishes were generously portioned — we had a little pasta leftover and a lot of broccoli rabe. The sides are apparently family-sized.
My pasta was amazing. You could tell it was freshly cooked, and they were generous with the sausage and added a big dollop of ricotta. The short rib pappardelle was very rich, and the short rib practically melted in your mouth. The broccoli rabe was cooked well, though I felt it could have used a bit more garlic.
Even though we were very full from the heavy pasta dishes, we had to order dessert to celebrate. Unfortunately, they were out of their special dessert that day (an apple crostata), so we went with the crème brûlée. It was clearly fresh, with the sugar crack on top still warm. The top was perfectly done; however, the custard itself lacked a bit of flavor.
Overall, everything was very good, and the pricing was fantastic for the quality of food and service. My mom said she felt this was one of the best Italian restaurants in our area.
Won’t go back
Wine was good and appetizer fried artichokes were good too .
I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon !!!
The meatballs were different but are yummy and definitely worth trying! The garlic bread wasn’t anything special, but get a side of marinara sauce for dipping and you’re set. The penne aka vodka was nice and creamy. Unfortunately the cacio e pepe daily special was served cold and you could barely taste any pepper. The fried mozzerrla ball didn’t really fit in either. The staff was very friendly with handling this though and comped the entree.
Besides the cacio e pepe, I would give this place another chance.
