Wow! This was delicious. Their prices are super reasonable, and for that I was expecting small portions, but you can expect generous meal-sized portions with their entres here. I ordered the curry chicken with mac and some of their dumplings, and everything was heavenly. On one hand, I recognize that it is apples and oranges to compare Haitian & Jamaican cuisine. I acknowledge that 100%. That said, I realize that Jamaican cuisine has a bigger footprint in STL and is more recognizable. To that end, I would say that My Marie brings the heat compared to the Jamaican spots in the Lou, both right here on Cherokee and out in Hazelwood and such, and in-between. Expect a more authentic, Scotch-Bonnet-heavy flavor profile here. The curry chicken had the most tender dark meat of the Caribbean chicken curries I’ve had in the Lou, and I had zero bones whatsoever which was a nice surprise. Expect the coconut milk of the curry to be less prominent and a twinge of cinnamon in the sauce profile compared to other caribbean offerings here.

I was super excited to try their patties, but they were left out of my order. That said, getting that refunded was no problem whatsoever.

Absolutely delicious and a fantastic value!

Don’t sleep on this place like I did. I have been driving by it for over a year, once a week, never went in. Finally, yesterday I went in and ordered dinner. We got the fried pork (holy crap), the coconut curry chicken, seafood okra gumbo, and the jerk chicken. Seriously, all of them were amazing. My son was eating and doing the happy dance. None of it was too spicy, usually jerk chicken is so hot you can’t taste anything but heat, this was excellently flavored without the pain. For sides we got the swtt plantains, sweet potatoes, steamed cabbage, and red beans and rice. all of them were excellent. I don’t think I have ever said, “Oh that’s really good cabbage” before, but I did last night.

I finished off the red beans and rice today and now I’m craving going back already.

Me and my daughter found ourselves riding around st louis city looking for a soul food place that was open, but at last we didn’t find one. She got the idea for some Jamaican oxtails, so we drove over to carribean delight, but they only take cash! So I looked on my phone and found this place and since we was around the corner from it we decided to give them a chance. We entered the restaurant and immediately picked up a menu. We decided on the oxtails although they had a plethora of different dishes to choose from. We both ordered the oxtails but with different sides. I got sweat potatoes and red beans and rice and she got macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes. The oxtails were delicious and came in a delicious broth. The red beans and rice was delicious and it didn’t need any salt or pepper . The sweet potatoes were kind of big and dry. Not really sweet like we are use to, but they were good. The prices are really reasonable compared to other places I have been.

Service:
Service is always bad. Females taking order are never attentive to the person in-front of them. Last time I went the female started talking to another worker there in the middle of taking my order, I think she actually walked off for a second.

Atmosphere:
Atmosphere is not the greatest. 1st time I visited it was empty so it was ok but this last time it was full of men (younger)which was slightly off putting.

Food:
Food is usually good but not worth it for the small portions size. This time the greens didnt even have meat in them. Red beans were not packaged well. When i arrived home the juice was everywhere☹️. Also corm bread is not included which is odd to me. Its an extra 1.50$ or something.

Over all I gave this place 3 tries. While the food is good, in my opinion it’s over priced for what you get. The service is bad and the atmosphere is sketchy. Video is from 1st video. Recent visit greens had no meat. Will not be returning.

My friend who grew up in Haiti walked in and said it feels like home. We were able to visit this place our first night in St. Louis and it did not disappoint. We were a group of four of varying Caribbean/American backgrounds and all loved the food. We did the griot, creole shrimp, fried beef for our mains with a mix of peas and rice, rice and beans, Mac and cheese, plantain for the sides. Some of the food was typical Haitian flavoring while others were definitely more typical Caribbean. Everything was delicious. Sorry we ate before getting some of the photos because of how flavorful the food was lol. Ms Marie was amazing, very much home vibes. They even graciously didn’t kick us out when we stayed pass closing. We will definitely come again.

One of my favorites in St. Louis and definitely the place I eat the most. Owner is wonderful and remembered me the 2nd time I came in. Fish Tacos are my thing after living in LA and I LOVE theirs. I love brightly painted restaurants and this place just makes me happy. Local is the way and I feel great about supporting them. Art gallery next door for the win! Fantastic and affordable. Not upscale but Im not a fan of upscale. I love real good food with a chill vibe. This is my spot!

If you’re looking for some seriously satisfying Creole comfort food, My Marie on Cherokee Street is the spot. I got the Creole shrimp with peas and rice plus a side of mac and cheese, and let me tell you, I left full and very happy. The Creole shrimp had the perfect amount of kick, packing in those spicy flavors without overpowering everything. The mac and cheese was creamy, rich, and exactly what I wanted on the side. And shoutout to my foodie friend for letting me snag a fish taco which was crispy, perfect with the coleslaw, and absolutely delicious. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

Great Haitian food, easily the best I’ve had in the Midwest! I got pork griot with black rice and cabbage and the taste was great and the portions huge. I highly recommend!

Caribbean-Creole fusion, fried, jerk wings.

I’ve never tried anything that tasted quite like this. A blend of jerk sauce and Creole seasoning. Fried to perfection with fall-off-the-bone tenderness. Super unique. Strongly recommend. Talked to the owner and she was extremely friendly and willing to chat about her story.

This place was a surprise. One of the locals recommended it to us, and they didn’t disappoint. Staff was amazing, and the food was top-notch. Normally, places like this scoop all of your food or of prepared pans, not here. Prepare to wait a bit as they cook your food. It’s worth the wait.
