We don’t dine here often enough. The ambiance is terrific, as is the service; but by far the best thing about Wood & Water is the superb cuisine. This is definitely a date night joint, a little bit upscale, but not impossibly so. The thing I love best is that their menu remains relatively unchanged year after year. They’re on to a good thing and they know it. I like the certainty that my favorite dishes will be right there and available every time I go.

Cool, calm, and cozy atmosphere. Bar seating and TVs available but doesn’t detract from those that desire a more intimate experience. Diverse menu. For an appetizer I tried Crispy Lobster Sliders and the Black Squid Ink Calamari. Both were crispy and flavorful. For my entree I had the Oven Roasted Seafood. It was packed with flavor (muscles, shrimp, calamari, garlic noodles, tomato base), was a bit on the salty side but had a decent spice level. My friend tried the Pork Chop which could have used more flavor ‍♀️. Mashed potatoes were cool. When I return, I’m definitely getting the sliders!

Wood and Water in Sherman Oaks is an upscale American restaurant. They serve gourmet food at gourmet prices. If you can afford the price, this place is worth a visit.

There’s a bit of street parking, but you’re likely to need the valet parking out front.

When the restaurant is busy, which it was when I had dinner there, you’ll need a reservation in order to get a table. It’s also quite noisy inside. Fortunately for me, I have a noisy environment setting on my hearing aid app. Once I turned on that setting, it made the background noise less annoying.

Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and he was efficient.

The food was beautifully presented and delicious. I had a cheeseburger. You might think that doesn’t sound like a gourmet dish, but it was way better than most cheeseburgers. I requested broccolini instead of fries. The broccolini was excellent. My future (I hope) son-in-law had fries. I tasted them. They were better than most fries, but not outstanding. One of the appetizers that we shared was lobster sliders. They were somewhat OK, but not amazing. For the price, I don’t recommend them.

The restaurant is at street level and has wheelchair accessible tables.

If you’re in Sherman Oaks and you want a gourmet American meal, Wood & Water is an excellent choice.

This was top 5 of the worst restaurants in Los Angeles I have had the unfortunate pleasure of dining at.

We came in around 5pm for happy hour and were greeted by the bartender. She got us drinks and put in our food. My partner had a kimchi grilled cheese which he enjoyed. I ordered the short rib tacos which were served covered in Mayo, I’m not sure why when that was not listed in its menu description. They were inedible!

There were flies all over on glasses and touching our food. When I went to the restroom there was a female kitchen employee washing her underarms in the sink.

This places is gross and needs a health inspector evaluation ASAP! The owner was around in the bar area the entire time checking on every guest and spending several minutes talking to each table, we were never once approached by him or we would have communicated our experience to him directly in person.

From the beginning, the hostess was very kind and attentive. The food was amazing. My husband isn’t a fan of key lime pie but it was recommended by our waiter and we loved it!

We stopped in for happy hour at the bar and were delighted with trays of oysters and a host of small plates to nosh on while enjoying some lovely cocktails.
The friendly bartender never let our glasses run dry.
We did order off the main menu to get the lobster sliders and the duck egg rolls. A must try (pictured)
We will be back.

Wood and Water is a great little find in Sherman Oaks. It’s a small restaurant and can get a bit loud but the staff is fantastic and the food is creative and wonderful.
Four of us visited, getting two appetizers (pictured) and four main courses and all six dishes were unique and delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong here, I won’t even detail what we got because the seasonal menu will change and I an confident that anyone can come and enjoy whatever stands out to them on the menu.
When we came it was almost full and we arrived 45 minutes early, so they sat us at the bar for a few minutes as they figured out if they could fit us in early and were able to do so quickly, which we all really appreciated. Big props to the host staff for being able to accommodate us even though it was our fault we were early.

My fiancé and I looooooved this place! We’ve been wanting to try more places close to home and this was a serious gem. I’m a real foodie and even among the fine dining I’ve done, this was near the top. Service was friendly and fantastic. My duck was absolutely perfectly cooked and the flavor balance was just right. Cocktails were also next level!

We asked to be seated in a booth and were denied because there was only two of us. The current booths were occupied by couples. Then they proceeded to sit other couples after us. I honestly wish the food was bad because I’ll still come back been here a number of times and food was always great
