We came in later in the evening specifically for the prime rib, and although we were initially told it was sold out, he came back and told us they have one left, they made it happen! Tender and full of flavor with a generous cup of fries! The au jus was spot-on, exactly what you want with a great cut of beef. We also had crème brûlée with espresso. And the service was so wonderful, a shot of limoncello found its way to our table.
Service was so friendly and attentive especially for us coming in so close to closing time.
It’s a must visit when in Vail. Just make sure to make a reservation if you’re going during prime time — it fills up fast for good reason.
French onion soup was run of the mill. Hearty, good amount of actually broiled cheese, and very well seasoned. Very good, but normal.
Cesar salad was okay, overall fresh, nice larger pieces of shaved parmesan.
The Veal Ambrosia was SOO good, if you like mushrooms. The umami flavor was phenomenal, paired with the thin veal that was so tender. Green beans had an amazing garlic butter almost glaze.
Prime rib overall was very good with large cuts. The Au Jus is a must with some additional salt to the middle. The potato came with its own toppings to add, but rather bland.
Their drinks were pretty good, and strong. Waitress seemed slightly flustered even though we ate at 5pm before any rush.
Bottom line, we have been missing out an outstanding restaurant in Vail. In fact, this is our new favorite restaurant.
The hostess gave us a warm welcome and we were promptly seated. Our server was a seasoned gentlemen that was a professional and made our experience wonderful.
We started with Escargot and a Spinach salad. Both were great. For entrees we all got prime rib that was outstanding!! In many prime rib restaurants by the time the steak reaches your table it is just warm and halfway through eating it’s cold. This was not the case at Lancelot, the Prime Rib was steaming hot and with a warm plate it stayed hot through the last bite. A perfectly cooked baked potato rounded out the plate.
The dining room is a cozy place with numerous windows. We enjoyed every minute of our time at Lancelot and look forward to returning soon.
Food is nothing revolutionary but you will leave full and satisfied. Although one of the few places in Vail you will find fried cauliflower, which was delicious.
A negative was that we stood around at the host stand for about 10 min before anyone ever came to see us. Staffing is always tough in report towns, so we didn’t let it bother us but it was definitely bothering some other patrons.
Overall, Lancelot delivers as a solid option for dinner in Vail.

The service was very attentive. Overall, we spent $270.22 for three people after tax before tip. It seems that if you order what they specialize in, you’ll have an amazing experience.

Came here for dinner while visiting Vail and was told by many people to have at least dinner here. This place didn’t disappoint.
Drinks were perfect and actually tasted like alcohol unlike most other restaurants.
Steak here is amazing. Super soft and fresh bread served at the table. Had a wonderful experience here and made our Vail trip complete. Thank you for the outstanding service
