Very disappointed. I live in South Philly and drove up here for dinner. Mac and cheese was yellow mush. Oxtail was ok, cabbage was good. Rice and peas.. mush. Jerk chicken was just spicy… It had no flavor no taste just hot. It looked and tasted like they just opened a can of yams and dumped them in the tray. Sad thing is I’ve eaten here before and it was great… That’s why I drove across the city to get it… I will not make the trip again.

Stopped by today craving good oxtails, and K & J absolutely delivered. I ordered the medium oxtail platter with okra, cabbage, and mac & cheese — plus a slice each of the pina colada cheesecake and lemon cake.
Service: In and out, no waiting. You order, and your food is ready — like the best kind of fast food experience, but with soul.
Food: Everything was delicious. The oxtails were seasoned just right, tender and flavorful. All the sides were on point—especially the mac & cheese. And those cakes? Rich, moist, and worth every bite.
Value: I paid about $31 and easily got two full servings out of the medium order. Generous portions and great quality for the price.

Didn’t eat in two full days from this anonymous virus and finally mustard up the strength to go here for some chicken foot soup and I really do feel better already and was able to hold this down . Thank you

Walking in the restaurant it was cold. And somehow the hostess was just as cold. A menu for the table for dine-ins wasn’t avaliable, the hostess had to search for one. While ordering our food she was rather arrogant and rushing us even though we were the only customers at the time.
Two platters from our order was served and thats when we were told that they need 15 mins more for the third. We waited over 30 mins to receive our order and we realized that dining in and dining out were no different it was served in a box through the window and lukewarm at best.
Our food was bland, the meats were overcooked and the vegetables tasted as if they were right out of the can. No seasoning no nothing. The portion sizes were horrendous, two peices of chicken and a box full of rice for a medium platter. All in all. It was not a great experience. Sixty four dollars of food was left in the trashcan. Would not dine again.

I used to eat here a few years ago, so I decided to come back today and the food was a big disappointment the whole platter was dry I got brown stew chicken, rice, cabbage and yams… the yams were dry not candied literally just boiled cut yams, the chicken was overcooked and dry, the best thing on the platter was the rice and cabbage. My friend and I called outside the restaurant and was told it would be 20 minutes. My friend went inside in 25 minutes and he was still waiting in the restaurant another forty minutes.
When we arrived home my order: Ox Tails, Collard Greens, Candied Yams and Potato Salad turned out to be… the ox tails were okay, the greens were salty, the yams were not candied and tasted more like Bruce sweet potatoes from the can and my potato salad was an unseasoned potato. I was really disappointed and I will not be returning. I tried my friends cabbage which was very good and seasoned well. Go, figure!!!

The food servings were healthy but the Curry Goat and Oxtails we got lacked flavor. Even the sides of mac and cheese, cabbage and yams also were very bland and lacked flavor which was a big disappointment considering the amount of food we were given in the platters. I don’t know if that day was just a bad day or what but we probably wouldn’t take the chance eating there again unfortunately.

First time ordering from this place and it was not bad at all!! Especially because they are actually opened on Sundays. Everything was very tasteful, I’m big on flavors. The only reason why im giving this business a 4 Star rating is, because the chicken tasted like it was made the day before & the mac & cheese could be a little cheesier. Besides that, it was great. Probably would go back again due to the GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Great job K&J.

The first picture was the first time I went there the next picture was the second time I went there the first time the food was seasoned very well the young lady was very nice and pleasant at the window I really enjoyed that experience the second time I went the food wasn’t really seasoned that much I didn’t get as many oxtails as I would have liked and the lady behind the counter was a little short abrasive maybe she had a bad day I may go back and a couple weeks or so. All in all I did enjoy the food I seasoned my food a little more the second time.
