I love the name so I had to try the ribs lol The line was long and it was hard to find a table but we got one so be prepared for that. I enjoyed my ribs. The meat fell off the bone so it was perfect! My green beans were good but the fruit wasn’t sweet. I should’ve gotten a different side but I was full by the time I tried it and didn’t want to deal with the line again. My husband had the chopped beef potato and he was happy. Brisket bombs are spicy but worth it. Overall not a bad experience.

It had been a very long time since I had been here. I wasn’t aware of the ownership change. I did notice the change in decor, it used to feel welcoming and now it feels like something was lost. The ambience is gone.
Now to the food, the ribs were tough and the there is toooooo much cumin. I knew kinda right away the ribs were different it tasted nothing like smoked ribs. It has a terrible glaze. The brisket was dry and flavor less. I just left it there on the plate. Couldn’t eat it, frozen okra was good.
I’m sorry for this review and I’m terribly sorry Tomball lost a piece of home by losing a true place of bbq.

Recent experiences at this establishment suggest a decline in quality. The meat, particularly the brisket, exhibits a noticeable difference in taste and texture, with the moist cut appearing less tender. It’s almost as if the person cutting the meat throws in the lean cuts anyway. I’m very simple: a pound of moist cut beef with pickles. Every time, I still get the onions, bread, and sauce. Furthermore, the level of service has seemingly diminished. While the staff remains polite, the overall experience does not match previous standards. This location was once a preferred destination for brisket; however, current conditions necessitate improvement. It is hoped that operational adjustments will restore the quality previously enjoyed.
Update: August 21, 2025. Despite my hopes, I am disappointed, as I was hoping to remain a patron. While the order was accurate, the brisket was unfortunately dry and lacked moisture. Furthermore, the flavor was notably absent. I believe I will be seeking out alternative barbecue establishments.

I ordered through Uber Eats, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere. The food was fantastic though. The brisket was perfectly cooked. I asked for extra moist and that’s exactly what I got. The BBQ beans were sooo good. The okra was packaged separately and was still crispy when it got here. My son got the chopped beef sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be eating here again!

Been going here for years and every single time it’s been a 10/10 for me! When I got the regular sausage, they gave me free samples of the spicier one since I was deciding which to choose. I usually always get the chopped meat potato and man, I could eat that once a week for the rest of my life and never be sick of it. Great service, kind staff, delicious food and always a great heaping serving of chopped beef on my potato! I also love their puddings

The brisket was the only thing that my daughter and I liked. It was seasoned well and moist as I ordered the moist cut. The sides, and we tried several were ok not the best I had. The service was horrible. The Hispanic lady behind the counter was rude and not helpful at all. The cashier was better help than she was and alot nicer too. I do like that they have a drive-thru available.

Good smoke ring around the ribs. The ribs seemed to be the freshest thing on the menu that we tried. The brisket felt like it was chillin’ there for a long time before being served to us. It was stiff and dry. The chicken also looked amazing but it was quite dry. Unfortunately, I feel the flavors were not complimentary to one another across the sauce and the dish as a whole. I did not like the corn. It was overcooked and gummy. We came at early dinner time and it might have been an off day but it would be hard to come here again.

The Original Rib Tickler has been a Tomball landmark since 1984. They must be doing something right to be around that long! I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries tonight. I got my food quickly and everything tasted great! I added a little more bbq sauce and some ketchup for the fries. I’ll be back soon! Keep up the great work Original Rib Tickler!

Service has been amazing when we visit. This last time, they made a mistake on our pick-up order. When we brought it to their attention, the happily and quickly fixed it, then went above and beyond our exists to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Never had customer service like THAT at a family restaurant. We’ll be gong back MANY many more times!
