We visited August 22, 2025, looking for a more affordable option for sushi when we aren’t eating at Sushi House. While I enjoyed Sam’s a lot, my wife didn’t find it good enough to make it a go to option in the future. The atmosphere is austere-feels a bit empty or temporary. The prices here are not much lower than better sushi places, unfortunately.

We found this place on Tik Tok and decided to check it out. 4.9 rating is the highest rating for a sushi restaurant we have found. GREAT JOB! I ordered the Spicy Maki Combo and a Phoenix roll. 26 pieces total and I smashed them all! We ordered the Avacado bombs, jalapeño poppers, dumplings and crab Rangoon for starters and they were all so tasty and perfect. The server got our orders correct and catered to us! It’s a little place and it’s PERFECT! The 4.9 rating is not high enough! KUDOS to this place for excellent food and excellent service!

This place is my absolute favorite the owners are amazing people and explain the rolls and give recommendations on what you like! The sushi is always fresh and the rolls are incredible with all the flavors. I highly recommend this place after giving it a chance I’m literally here 2 times out of the week possibly more but who’s counting. You will not be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a place to eat. Service was very good. Quick. Water bottles complimentary. I really enjoyed the appetizers. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and jalapeño poppers. Mushrooms were stuffed with shrimp. I believe poppers had yellowtail? Rolls are small, but for their price, I was fine with it. They are cheaper than other sushi places I’ve been to.

First Visit Under New Ownership – Portions Have Shrunk, Hope They Improve!

Just had my first meal here since the ownership change, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the spot we used to love and frequent regularly.
The food still tasted good overall, but we ran into some noticeable issues with portion sizes and preparation:

• The tuna crispy rice wasn’t very crispy and fell apart quickly—more like soft rice with toppings than the crunchy bite we remembered.

• The salmon nigiri pieces were tiny—significantly smaller than before the new owners took over. They felt skimpy compared to what used to be a generous, satisfying portion (even smaller than some of their other salmon sushi items).

• The salmon roll was also surprisingly small and underwhelming in size.

We really miss how reliable and satisfying this used to be as our go-to sushi place in the area. If the new ownership addresses these portion and quality consistency issues, we’d definitely give it another shot—fingers crossed they work out the kinks soon!

Overall rating: 2-3 stars for now (tasty flavors but disappointing value/experience compared to the past).

I had the Dragon Roll, Godzilla Roll, Crab Rangoon and Hot Green Tea. I was promptly greeted by one of the owners when I walked in. She gave me a menu and told me to have a sit wherever I like. I placed my order and it came out in stages. First the tea and crab rangoon followed by one roll at a time. Everything was hot, cooked to order, great attention to detail. I found that the husband (co-owner) made my rolls. I was very impressed for the style of restaurant. Very high praise.

sams is my favorite for a quick bite! the service is fast and the sushi is really good. their lunch special is hard to beat price wise for the amount of food you get, and the staff is lovely. I would highly recommend them for a quick lunch or take home dinner

Our order was made correct and in a timely fashion. Flavor was missing in the hibachi meal all around, bland meat, no grill spots on meat to be seen, vegetable had a water flavor, fried rice was bland. The yum yum sauce is watery. Clear soup would have been good if it wasn’t over peppered.

Sushi was good, but seaweed was pretty rough to chew through.

Small but charming space. The food is amazing and the price is hard to beat. The staff is a small team but so friendly and hard working. Worth a visit and I will be frequenting them from now on.

We’ve eaten here twice in the past 3 weeks. The food is delicious, everything is fresh. I typically don’t like ginger dressing; theirs is very good. My husband has the tempura; again not a favorite of mine, I gave it a shot and found it quite tasty. The first time we went, I had the veggie meal, it was amazing, no concerns about holding the mushrooms. My husband had the beef meal, he said it was better that he’s had in other Japanese restaurants. The portions are quite large, prices are in line with portion size. It’s clean there is plenty of parking and family run. I encourage supporting small local businesses. The only downside, all the drinks are bottled or canned (even water). This one is a gem.
