Favorite Mexican place in the area! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and extremely quick service! 2 entrees and a tamale took >15 minutes, and the restaurant was fairly busy at that time. Reasonable prices too! 10/10

Excellent food Excellent service, and as for portions well you better bring an empty stomach cause for the price you get alot. We had an unpleasant experience at this Mexican restaurant. A cockroach was found in our soup, which was very upsetting. We did not eat the food. The manager told us not to worry about paying, and we appreciate that, but the situation raised serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. Based on this experience, we are hesitant to return.

The enchiladas weren’t at all what I was expecting. The chicken was very dry, the ground beef had no flavor and the birria wasn’t birria at all. You can’t just shred beef and call it birria.
The tampiqueña was good and cooked to temp. The burritos were huge and filling. And the “chimichangas” were tasty and so were the beans. The chicken tortilla soup was forgotten by the server twice and when he finally brought it, as pictured is how it came. I had to ask him for the toppings that ALWAYS come with tortilla soup, to which he did. But every mess up.. he blamed it on the kitchen staff and how they were messing everything up and not doing their jobs. As a server, you kinda know what the dishes are supposed to look like though, no?
Anyway, I had high hopes for this place, but was let down. You can’t mess up enchiladas very badly.. or at least I had never experienced it before, but now I have. For someplace that says “a step close to Mexico” this is very disappointing.

I got to say that Azteca is 1 of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. With that said, the service was very friendly and they attended to all our needs. The food was absolutely delicious, and so were the chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole trio. Might I recommend the seafood chimichanga. I get that dish every time, and every time, it’s worth it!

Gave this place another try and was very pleased this visit. Had the carnita burrito and it was delicious. Their salsa is one of the best around!
Edited for next visit. Went in on a Saturday. I wasn’t paying attention and ordered off the lunch menu which isn’t done on the weekend. Instead of pointing out my mistake, waiter brought me the regular dish (increased portion and price) without letting me know. Did not need all the food and was traveling, so a to go wasn’t feasible. Would have preferred he’d pointed out my error instead of being surprised.

Just when I think the food can’t get better, it does. Everything is so fresh and flavorful and the portions are generous, I’ve never had anything I didnt like and I’ve had a lot of different meals. The people that work there are so friendly too. Highly recommend coming in or ordering to go.
