I’m working on the area temporarily. I have come in this deli 5-6 times now and every time the staff is very friendly. The prices are very fair. Where this place really shines is the quality of the food. The food is exceptional. It is always cooked to perfection and done with high quality ingredients. This place is inconsistent. Been here a few times and it really comes down to who you get behind the counter making your order. From the menu they’re good. If you order your own sandwich you might be disappointed. I ordered 3x hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw, swiss, and Russian dressing. Didn’t get the pastrami hot, all of them came with white bread, one of the sandwiches weren’t cut, one of the sandwiches had mayo on the outside. I’d come back to try again if I can avoid whoever took my order.

Very disappointed in this place. I called and placed an order. I got 2 sandwiches. One for me and one for a co worker. I order a special off their daily special menu and they had no idea what it was and I had to explain it to them then I also order led a very basic sandwich. I asked how long it woukd be they hung up. I get there about 30 minutes later to pick up my order and the sandwiches weren’t even started. The one worker had no idea what the one sandwich special was. So she I guess since she didn’t know what the sandwich was she decided not to make it. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes. Then when I open my sandwich there was no tomato or mayonnaise on my sandwich. I ordered a very basic sandwich that is near impossible to screw up. But who wants to eat a dry sandwich? This place has gone down hill. Use to love it here but the staff and quality of food have gone down.

High-quality ingredients and interesting combinations make up great subs and burgers. Fresh lettuce, veggies, cheese, and meats are used for their generous salads, and being a gardener, I am picky enough to spot old ingredients- that doesn’t happen at Central Ave. In true deli style, you can customize your own sandwiches, and the staff will make em as you wish. A good quick stop also, if you’re looking for bagged snacks or drinks. VERY accommodating and friendly staff!

Good food, 1st time visit. Definitely will eat here when in the area. The “Cubano” was good, with a kick from pickled jalapeños that I didn’t expect and I loved the thinly shaved meats. The hero bread is great, crispy/crunchy on the outside, chewy inside. Goes great with any sandwich you choose. The older thin short lady with glasses is very attentive to customers, she’s great.
