Renee and Steven Kreager opened this quaint and well appointed restaurant in 2005. Renee’s has created an atmosphere that strikes a balance between a European bistro and more urban American space.
The feel is intimate and groovy in the dining room which features private booths, great music, murals by local artist, Danny Martin, and unique handcrafted tables.
The menu: Italian delights, comfort foods, as well as healthy and a diet- specific plates. Renee’s allows for everyone to have an excellent meal out.
See you soon!
Compact eatery serving a diverse menu of organic dishes, including gluten-free pizza & vegan items.

We are in AZ for the winter. We chose to dine at Renee’s for my birthday dinner based on recommendations from a few locals. Let me say, for a date night this place is a definite YES. It’s cozy and small so really great for conversation (unless you have very loud guests behind you like we did. Unlucky but that happens sometimes). Our Server was friendly and made absolute sure everything was gluten free (I have Celiac Disease) and we didn’t have to wait on her for anything. She took the time to be sure everything came out okay. We ordered wine (no cocktails available). It was good wine. We ordered their Oh My Honey board – that was the absolute star of the night. So simple but SOOOO delish! I’ll be thinking of it for some time. Order it – trust me. The gluten free baguette was also perfect. Toasted to perfection and my n gluten eating husband thought it was one of the better gf breads he’s ever had and preferred it over the gluten bread on the side. We ordered the Caesar Salad and it was so neat to be able to enjoy (GF) Croutons on my salad because that’s a rarity so I really appreciated that option! I had the Sun Dried Tomato and Grilled Chicken Dish. I added GF pasta to it. It was delicious but I would have liked it to have a bit more vegetables and sauce. I’d order it again though. Very tasty. My husband got the lasagna. He said it was really good. Definitely a heavy dish though. For dessert we ordered a lemon custard with berry sauce. Also VERY GOOD. A perfect, lighter dessert. We would like to try their pizzas if we come back. Those sounded fantastic. We felt the menu prices were very reasonable considering the quality ingredients and the allergen friendly options offered.
Our meals were good. The service was good – but flat. I just was hoping for great. Being that it was my 50th birthday we thought that there would be a bit more “fanfare”. It was a good experience but not really a memorable one. So my two cents is – wonderful date night spot but maybe not the place for a special occasion.

Came here for the gluten free pizza and was not disappointed. Very tasty and prepared well. This is a tiny restaurant with about 5 tables inside and 5 outside. I suspect it could seat about 40 people if every spot was filled so I’d highly recommend reservations if you go.
The food is good but it’s pricey. My 3 meatballs were $15. We paid over $50 for a small salad, the 3 meatballs and a gluten free pizza. Definitely feels like a quality over quantity type of place but you pay well for it.
I’d go back for the pizza but am hard pressed to see the value in the balance of items ordered.
EDIT: Added a star due to the response from the owner. It was thoughtful and detailed review.

From the moment we walked in, service was great, very friendly staff. It is a small restaurant, I would recommend making a reservation. We made our same day. Started with drinks, prickly pear lemonade with tequila, very tasty. For appetizers we tried the garlic knots, came out hot and fresh, both ranch and marinara flavorful, a great pairing. I got the Fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The sauce was very creamy and rich, I feel it lacked a bit of flavor. The chicken was tender but fairly plain, blending into the dish rather than standing out. The pasta was cooked well and held the sauce nicely. The best part was the focaccia bread. I might return to try the pizza, they looked to be good and had plenty of choices.

I’d heard many a thing about Renee’s (from the quality of the food to the no children under 12 in the dining room policy, which *is* mentioned all everywhere and multiple times when you make your reservations, so if you miss that, totally on you). Now onto the food itself…
The focaccia bread (served along with a hot honey sauce IIRC and butter) and the caprese board were excellent appetizers. Everything on both of these dishes was incredibly fresh and quite tasty.
The chilies and cream pizza was quite the experience. If you’re into spicy foods, then this is definitely a must-have. The combination of green chilies, jalapeño cream sauce, and beef along works so well.
The chicken dinner consisted of a chicken breast over spinach and zucchini noodles in a creamy sauce. The chicken was quite tender and moist and the noodles were very flavorful especially when mixed well with the sauce.
Not pictured (because it was practically devoured), was the slice of Steve’s chocolate cake. Chocolate cake, drizzled in chocolate sauce, and some whipped topping on the side. You can never go wrong with that.
While in a small space, Renee’s packs quite the culinary punch and if in the area again, would definitely stop by again. Service was fantastic and thank you for an excellent birthday dinner.

The food was excellent and the service was great. I loved the options for vegans and gluten-free. It’s a small restaurant so reservations are recommended and the inside seating is limited. The

We had saw this place on the news and thought to give it a shot. The pizza was good but not worth the $24 price tag associated with it. Not to mention the $3 CAN of coke. In my opinion there are better pizza option in Tucson for less money. The only way I’d return is for “happy hour” where a one topping pizza is $10

Absolutely delicious! Go Eat Here! We had the Caprese Board & Meatballs Arrabbiata appetizers, both were amazing. Our table had the lasagna, a calzone & the shroomy goat pizza. All fantastic! Topped it off with Tiramisu & a chocolate Bundt cake with raspberry crème & decaf coffee. All yummy! We also had red wine & rose with our dinner! Renee was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!

Wow! I think this is my new favorite restaurant. I came here with my friend for lunch, and both of us have food allergies. We found many menu options that we could eat, and the food was amazing!! Highly recommend, especially for gluten free peeps. (Note: not a dedicated GF kitchen, but staff is very mindful) Great ambiance too, so peaceful & classy.

Got take out white pizza and goat cheese walnut salad here and loved it! The salad dressing was so fresh and delightful and the combination of goat cheese, apples, and walnuts was perfect. The white pizza was super flavorful too! It had the perfect amount of ricotta cheese. Loved every bite!

We came in for lunch and made reservations on open table. There are only a few booths inside and it was too hot to sit outside. The service was fast and friendly. Our table was ready. We will be back another day because we were kind of rushing to get to Mt. Lemmon! However, we did get the meatballs with jalapeño cream… not as spicy but enough to get a little heat. The pizza was stellar! We got the make your own with pepperoni and sausage but we will be back to try the lasagna and ravioli.
Visit #2: We came back for the lasagna and it was tasty. Ours did not have a lot of meat or ricotta cheese but the sauce is flavorful and not acidic. My husband had the pan seared chicken breast in a roasted tomato cream sauce. The sauce was good and the chicken was juicy. This was definitely the better dish. We wanted to try the lemon posset (we were first to arrive at 11am) but they had none. If you want an intimate Italian meal… this is a good place. We also tried the prickly pear lemonade and it was also good! We are fans of prickly pears now!
