We tried multiple items at Tokyo Tasty Wok in Fairborn: crab rangoon, chicken roll, fried dumplings, chicken pad Thai, and shrimp lo mein with pork. Overall, it was below average.

The fried dumplings were the best part of the meal—crispy and decent. The crab rangoon wasn’t bad, but it was surprisingly sweet, which threw off the balance. The chicken roll was okay, but not memorable in any way. The chicken pad Thai was average; it wasn’t bad, but it lacked flavor depth.

The shrimp lo mein with pork was disappointing. The noodles were cooked well, but the shrimp portion was tiny and lacked flavor, and the pork came in very small bits that didn’t add much to the dish. Overall, the flavors didn’t come together, and it felt like an underwhelming experience. Not something I’d return for or recommend.

I’m giving two stars because there’s no way this place deserves 4.6 stars when they gave me old rice. I literally came in to get takeout I mean it’s bad enough that they’re not cooking the food fresh, meaning they just put the meat in the microwave because there’s no way you can prepare this entire thing three meals in 10 minutes. But for you to give me rice that’s lukewarm much colder than the actual food and it’s hard and dried it tells me the rice is old. A terrible experience for first-time customer I won’t return. I spent over $30 here for you to not give me the best service you can give me it’s terrible. Various grains in this rice are very hard. People don’t just think about going to a restaurant like gee, let me pay money to get old food. This is the type of things that I’ve noticed traveling internationally United States is supposed to have fresh food when people go to a restaurant and buy it. It probably takes rice a few hours to dry out this much. No way this is 4.6 stars. The lack of effort show they really did not care about what they were giving me.

This is the best low key sushi restaurant in the area.
The roles were amazing. Highly recommend the wild tiger (strawberry and mango) and Fairborn roll.

The music and atmosphere is very calm and very relaxing.

Support your local business!
Thank you to the chef and waitress as everything was amazing!

My husband and I wanted to get some asian food this afternoon, and we were out in Fairborn, we found reviews for this little place to be phenomenal and Tokyo Tasty Wok did not disappoint. It looks from the outside to be a much smaller place, but once you get inside, it is a nice roomy little restaurant that is absolutely charming. It is clean, decorated smartly for the space, but very cute. The woman who waited on us also seated us, she was very sweet. I ordered hot green tea in a pot, which was lovely and my husband a sweet tea (this was a bottle of pure leaf, no refills, but a large glass of ice)

I couldn’t decide between sushi or an entree so I chose the lunch bento, which had a few pieces of California roll in it, enough to satisfy my craving. I chose the Pork Katsu bento box, which came with miso, a ginger salad, white rice, a spring roll, and it said 3 pc California roll on the menu. To my delight, it was 4 pieces when it came out! My husband chose the Combination Lo Mein and an egg roll. He always will choose a Lo Mein dish the first time at an Asian restaurant that has it, every time.

The soup and salad came out first, each a hearty serving and absolutely delicious! I love a good miso and this definitely was one. The entrees came out, and my bento was plated very nicely, it was pretty food! As I said previously, it had 4 pieces of California roll in my bento, which was a delightful surprise. Now as for taste, it tasted as good as it looked. Actually, better! The Katsu was cooked perfectly, so that the pork did not dry out. The rice was a perfect texture, the spring rolls were full of flavor and had a wonderful crunch. The California roll made me want more to be honest but I was full!! I do know that I will be ordering more sushi my next time.

My husband’s Lo Mein was plentiful and plated nicely. It had loads of meat in it and he said it was fantastic. I had a small bite of it, and I thought it was really good! He said the egg roll was very tasty as well.

Do not sleep on this place, its a tiny treasure in Fairborn and you have to give it a try. I found it to be very reasonably priced, especially for lunch. You gotta go.

Ordered Mongolian beef with light onions and extra beef. What I got was extra onions and a tiny portion of beef. Also paid a pretty premium for extra beef (almost Double). Flavor was lacking in everything besides the dumplings. Fried rice was basic, lo mein was flavorless, and the Mongolian beef didn’t have much flavor. I will say the dumplings were great.
I’ll have to pass on this place.

After the transition from Tokyo Fairborn to Tasty Wok, I have updated my review. I definitely miss the original one, but having to experience the original definitely made it hard for tasty wok to compare to our favorite Tokyo Fairborn. Tasty Wok was okay, my pad thai tasted salty and there was no flavor. My husband had also complaints with the food he’s got. Food was okay and service was okay.

Me and my husband always try to make some time to come here or just a very convenient place to go, we like how peaceful and comfy this place is and at the same time quality, and good food. Special mention to staff and chef that have always been consistently informative and kind to customers. We would recommend the tricolor sushi, it’s my husband fave while the shrimp shumai appetizer is my fave! We love everything about this place!

Under new ownership. Fake reviews, beware! Do not order from this place. It’s horrible. I ordered yellow Thai curry and it said online it came with miso and ginger and instead I got a yellow Chinese curry. No soup or ginger salad. It tastes bad and is just water, not sauce. The tofu pad Thai i ordered is very sub par as well. Everything is mushed together and horrible. Don’t recommend this place at all. Look at how poor these noodles look. Look at this soggy breaded tofu. Absolutely horrendous. F RATING.

Unfortunately the experience we had, has encouraged me to make this not so lovely review.
I was questioning whether the server wanted us there or not and the food definitely had me questioning my choices in life… it was gross! Slimey fake meat, soggy refrozen and defrosted veggies. And this is what makes me mad….the prices…. when we got the bill it was $10 more than what the menu told us it would be. It said choose your protein with the veggie dish and complementary rice (also unappetizing)…so we paid $17 dollars for a veggie dish in a salty sauce and some fake tasting meat. Seriously. I saw 3 groups of people walk in while we left and I wanted to save them all. I didn’t save them….maybe I can save you. Go anywhere else. I hate feeling used and this place didn’t care about their customers.

Really good fresh Sushi. Stack terriyaki was really good. I have never had anything bad from here. Service was fast and friendly.

This sushi joint is in an old fast food restaurant…. sounds kinda funny but it really is good food.
