Now the warm food was sent back and returned. The salmon when returned was cooked but dry and not really blackened. The steak and lambchops when returned, flavor was different and dried. My understanding is when food leaves the kitchen it is not to be returned which can cause a cross contamination issue but our meals went back and was returned, instead of new portions prepared, except for the salmon and spinach dip. When the lobster spinach dip was hot it was delicious. The steak and lambchops had good flavor when initially served, it just wasn’t hot. Now temperature is subjective, but our party all had the same complaint. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The tables are large in the booths with sitting room. The booth seats are far from the table so if you are going to eat you will be leaning forward with no back support. This can be a good thing as a lot of restaurants forego space to cram more booths. The drinks were good and Sam’s sommelier expression was quite notable. This restaurant has a small menu but has the potential to do quite well. In the area, it will be the best restaurant. As it is going through an extensive soft opening, hopefully all these items will be addressed. I understand as a former restaurant employee, that it takes time for staff to learn the timing of cooking so that meals come out at the same time. This must be addressed, hot food is a priority. You have potential but it requires a lot of fixes. Vernon you asked for this review.
The reservation process was confusing. We were told we needed approval to book, but when we arrived they were taking walk-ins. Once seated, the menus did not reflect what was actually available. Our server was kind and doing his best, but had to repeatedly check with the kitchen to confirm what was in stock. It felt like the team was not set up with clear information or training.
Service timing was also off. Food did not come out together, temperatures varied, and drinks were not refilled. The food itself was just okay. The broccolini was overcooked, the lobster mac was underwhelming, and while the braised ribs had good flavor, they were not served hot.
The floor manager interaction was another missed opportunity. During a soft launch, leadership presence matters. Instead of engaging in conversation, asking why we were there, acknowledging a birthday, or briefly explaining the concept and launch process, we were handed a paper survey while still eating. A short, intentional check-in would have built goodwill and empathy. Even acknowledging launch growing pains would have gone a long way.
This restaurant has a strong concept and beautiful branding, but execution is falling short across service, kitchen coordination, and overall guest experience. With stronger training, clearer systems, and more intentional leadership, it could become what it’s trying to be.
We ordered catfish and grits, omelet, burger and chicken and waffles,
I can’t describe how the burger and the omelet was as they are for the person we are with and I didn’t have the chance to grab from their plate, but they were like it’s delicious!
The catfish and grits was my spouse order and I got to taste it as I reached onto that plate!
My review for that is simply since I got here in the US, I never had a good one but their catfish is the first one that I found the best of all I ever had in this MD.
I had the chicken and waffles, and I must say those are delish too, I only had this thing in my mind that they should have the option of having chicken fillets instead of chicken wings, even so, it is so good it’s just that wings for me comes as finger food and having it with waffles in a fancy restaurant, I don’t want to have my fingers on that wings, and using knife and fork on that was a struggle!
A star for the service as I think it isn’t acceptable that there is a long wait for the order to be taken and for the order to be serve, wait staff are lost with the table numbering, they should have initially made a rundown and on the coffee refill and water refill I think they run out of clean dishes, but all of those are can easily be improve.
I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of Michael’s on Friday, February 20, 2026, with my 11-year-old daughter, and the experience exceeded every expectation.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by both owners, who personally greeted us and made us feel genuinely at home. Their hospitality was heartfelt and sincere, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly special evening. It didn’t feel like a soft opening—it felt like a thoughtfully curated experience.
One of the highlights was receiving an exclusive tour of the banquet hall, which is absolutely stunning. The space is elegant, refined, and beautifully designed—perfect for weddings, celebrations, and upscale events. You can tell great care was taken in every detail.
The food was top quality in every sense. Each dish arrived at the perfect temperature, beautifully presented, and full of incredible flavor. The presentation alone reflected a high-end dining experience, and the taste matched it completely—fresh, well-balanced, and expertly prepared. Even more impressive was the efficiency of service: there was no long wait for our food, yet nothing felt rushed. The timing was flawless, allowing us to truly enjoy each course.
The overall atmosphere was elegant and luxurious, while still being warm and welcoming. The hosts were attentive, gracious, and professional, ensuring every guest felt cared for. My daughter felt just as comfortable and welcomed as I did, which speaks volumes about the heart behind this establishment.
Michael’s delivers a rare combination of luxury, comfort, and genuine hospitality. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience that makes you want to return again and again.
If this soft opening is any indication of what’s to come, Michael’s is destined to become a standout destination. I highly recommend visiting for an elevated dining experience, a family outing, or a special occasion—you will not be disappointed.
✨ We are already looking forward to our next visit! ✨
I wish I were exaggerating, but the “worst service” award goes to this venue. Surprisingly, you would think Valentine’s Day would have displayed the contrary.
There was a set menu with literally four entrées, and the waitress couldn’t recall anything on it. The drinks did contain alcohol, but they tasted like something off Fear Factor. Dessert was a disaster as well.
Management issued a paper survey dated January 9th labeled “soft opening,” complete with printer streaks. They gave us this survey at the very beginning—without a pen. Our food and drinks didn’t arrive until two hours later.
The waitress kept apologizing and blaming the back-of-house staff for the delays, then mentioned she believed they had run out of dessert. The service was not worth $100 per person—nor the automatic 18% gratuity. Management was inattentive and didn’t even support their servers.
I couldn’t even enjoy the branzino—it was completely flavorless.
I would never venture here again, especially on Valentine’s Day.
