My family and I went to Aunt Effie’s for a late lunch on a weekday while on a road trip. We love stopping at local places whenever we have the time to especially in new places and on road trips. The restaurant has a chill vibe and serves southern food. Our service was really nice and helpful. We ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast Filet with Turnip Greens and the tomato and cucumber salad, Chicken and Dumplings with Fried Green Tomatoes and a Side Salad, and the Country Fried Chicken Fingers with fries and a Side Salad. Our food was so hot and freshly made when we got it! The chicken fingers were so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside! If I go back I’d definitely get them again since I love a chicken finger/tender moment. The chicken and dumplings tasted just like chicken pot pie filling without the veggies, which I thought was so good. All in all we had a great meal. Parking outside is pretty easy. The restaurant is a part of a complex with a lot of other things and the whole complex has lots of free parking spots. Very convenient!

We were passing through Ringgold and had to stop here to eat. I’ll be honest, I only chose it because Effie was my Grandmas name. She was my Mamas mother and so kind and sweet. I wanted to surprise my Mama and bring her here. We loved the food, the service and my Mama said “that Effie can cook.” Lol! My husband got a large burger, my Mama got beef liver and onions and I got tur turkey melt with tator tots. Everything was delicious!! We will definitely eat here again when we visit Ringgold. We loved this town and everyone was so friendly here.

2nd time trying this place.
The chicken casserole was fire, but be aware they’re skimpy with the crumbs on top.. Catfish filets are huge** & tasty, but tastes & looks more like cod, also has a very thick, hard crust. Mashed potatoes & gravy are amazing. Tea is also made right. The fried potatoes with onions were cold, however. Fried chicken was good. Beans, greens, & mac n cheese are not bad. One of our butter packs were served to us opened & unusable. Cornbread was great.

We had lunch at the old location by the interstate several years ago and the food was quite good. A tornado demolished that location and the restaurant reopened in it’s present location on main street. We finally got to have lunch there and it was very good! It has a much larger dining area with 2 rooms instead of 1. We arrived around 2pm and they were still fairly busy! I had a small cheeseburger and my wife had a Philly sandwich both of which were very good. We will return some evening for their dinner special!

Nothing quite like a meat and three for comfort food while travelling. I’d read review that recommended the fried pork tenderloin and the review was absolutely accurate… SCRUMPTIOUS!!

The sweet potato casserole and the corn fritters were also off the chart tasty.

Like most good meat and three restaurants, it’s not a fancy place, but there’s a little more satisfying than a good selection of mix and match meat and vegetable choices. And it’s a nice stop to get off the highway for a moment.

We will probably stop by again when we’re traveling to Atlanta again.

A nice down home, simple No frills eatery. As a 40-year chef, I enjoyed the food although the portions were a bit small for the somewhat high prices.

Everything was good but a little on the bland side. Which is okay, that’s what salt and pepper are for. I’d rather have bland than over seasoned any day.

Service is subpar. Brought our orders and then never came back until our plates were empty. No check backs, no refills etc. if you want good tips, earn them!

Some subtle music or turning on the television would have been nice as well. Felt like we were sitting in a school cafeteria.

There was no welcome when walking in the door. You sit yourself and wait for someone to show up at your table. Not the most friendly or business-oriented atmosphere.

It’s obvious that the kitchen is the heartbeat of this establishment.

Meatloaf and fried chicken breast with white gravy was great! Had Mac n cheese, creamed potatoes, squash casserole, and white beans for sides and they were all great also! Big portions and fast service! Will come back to try other things…more reviews to come!

Well, hello Aunt Effie’s! So the wife and I went antuquing up in the Ringold Georgia area over the past weekend. While we were out picking, we asked around for the best place to grab lunch, NOT a chain restaurant! Boom! Aunt Effie’s is the place! Gotta say that this local funeral was amazing! We sat ourselves and were waited on in no time and soon had our drinks. We looked over the menu, and it was perfect. Just what we were looking for. I had a hand battered chicken breast with creamed potatoes and mac and cheese. When I asked if I wanted cornbread or rolls, I answered….yes! She looked at me and said, “I know just what you want!” Then proceeded to bring me both! Score!! My wife had the loaded baked potato and a bowl of homemade beef and vegetable soup. She was amazed at the amount of toppings on the taters and the beef in the soup. All in all, i must say, Aunt Effie’s is THE place to go in Ringold if you want great food, great service, and great pricing! Definitely recommend Aunt Effie’s!

Ah, the Frisco Melt from Aunt Effie’s—a culinary revelation draped in nostalgic charm, where comfort meets indulgence, and decadence becomes an art form. This gastronomic marvel beckons with its golden, toasted exterior and promises a sensory journey unparalleled.

The bread, crisp yet yielding, is toasted to perfection, embracing the essence of the melt with buttery devotion. It forms a sanctuary for the riches within, a cradle for a medley of textures and flavors. Each bite of this crust whispers of home kitchens and seasoned skillets, of love infused into the mundane.

At the heart lies the patty—a symphony of savory, char-grilled ecstasy. Juicy and tender, it holds a secret within its folds: the perfect mingling of melted cheese, cascading like molten gold. This duet of beef and cheese is a celebration of culinary harmony, where the richness of the meat waltzes with the creamy allure of cheddar.

Above this foundation, layers of fresh vibrance unfold. Crisp lettuce adds a note of verdant brightness, a whisper of health amidst the indulgence. Slices of tomato, plump and ruby-red, bring a tangy sweetness that dances across the palate, a reminder of summer gardens and sun-drenched days.

And then, the sauce—a mysterious alchemy of tangy, savory, and creamy notes that ties it all together. It seeps into every crevice, every fold, uniting the disparate elements into a masterpiece of flavor. It is both glue and glory, a testament to Aunt Effie’s genius.

To partake in the Frisco Melt is to revel in an experience. It is a bite of nostalgia wrapped in culinary innovation, a tribute to all that is comforting and familiar, yet elevated to the extraordinary. It is a dish that whispers of Aunt Effie’s passion and commitment to flavor, inviting all who dare to take a bite to step into her world of edible wonders.

This creation, this Frisco Melt, is not just food—it is a story. A story of care, of tradition, of the eternal pursuit of the perfect bite. It is the kind of dish that lingers long after the last crumb has vanished, a memory etched in the heart and on the taste buds.

Aunt Effie, with her Frisco Melt, has not just served a sandwich. She has served an experience, a moment of bliss that demands to be savored and celebrated. For in the golden crunch of the bread, the molten embrace of the cheese, and the harmonious medley of toppings, lies a love letter to all who seek joy in the simple pleasures of food.
