We finally tried Penn Station subs tonight; the sandwiches are available in sizes small, regular and large. They offer a variety of salads as well as french fries and other sides. We did not try the fries, but we hear they’re great, so maybe next time. I had the classic Italian sandwich toasted, I liked that it was seasoned well, and included lots of melty cheese. The meats were sliced fresh for my order, and the veggies were dressed in oil and vinegar… Classic east coast style. The sandwich met my expectations, and I will be back to try more of their menu.

I love Penn Station. Always have. But this location has issues. When I walk in and have to witness the employees having attitude with each other, making people feel uneasy who walk in there, and then my order gets messed up, that’s completely unacceptable, especially for how expensive their food is already. If this were a single event. I’d keep it to myself, but today was not the first time and I’d recommend having a back-up plan. Or in other words, if you walk in and there is already some sory of tension and attitude between the staff and the person taking your order, walk out. You’ll likely get screwed.

First time here and it was very busy! As a vegan it’s difficult to find a sub that I can eat, that tastes good and is filling. There wasn’t much on the menu for me, but the associate recommended the grilled artichoke without the cheese & mayo (add peppers) and it was quite delicious. The bread was soft and warm and the grilled artichokes added enough flavor on their own. Great recommendation!

With so many other sub restaurants, I will not be back to this location. Ordered 4 subs, only two of them were correctly made, and there is not much to them, not good value at all. Better choices in the area.

The Italian was amazing.. I would have given deserved 5 star if it had just a bit more meats on it.

I ordered a Turkey Bacon Ranch wrap. The flavor was okay. While it had a pleasant taste, the tomato pita was sometimes a bit much for the amount of filling, making for a doughy, chewy experience at times. By the end of the meal, I was wishing it had been a little less salty, but bacon will do that, right?

My biggest suggestion for improvement would be to change the paper wrapping procedure. I nearly destroyed my wrap trying to open it because it was sealed not with typical restaurant paper tape, but with something more like Scotch tape; 5.8 inches of the stuff. I know because I measured it. It would have been much easier to open using a simple paper tape (hint: Order a Jimmy John’s for comparison) or if using Scotch tape, use a lot less of it.

Thought we’d try Penn Station, first timers. To cut to the chase, there are many better choices for a cheesesteak on the west side of Ann Arbor. There was hardly any meat on the roll and the most prominent taste was toasted roll, not meat, not
onions, not sauce. We’re inclined not to return and stay with the places we already know in the area when crazing a cheesesteak.
