Great looking spot for those summer afternoons.. To be honest I would leave the kids at home but they have plenty of things kids can do to keep themselves entertained. Food was so so and they can do better if they tried. Service was up there with the worst I’ve ever experienced. The server did not look the part and was more interested in playing with animals, Food came out sporadically with one plate for this person a few minutes later the same for another. One order was wrong, mine was cold. It became even colder when I realized I couldn’t eat it with my hands as the server never brought out knives and forks. I saved the day once I found the server and was handed napkins and forks tucked away in their side pocket. Maybe this is why my food was cold but who knows. After dinner we all talked over our half eaten plates for a couple of hours until we got the check, well I mean hunted down another server to bring our check as our server was still playing with pets. Fortunately for us the table was finally cleaned up as we were standing up to leave. Would have loved another round of drinks but heck still waiting for that water we ordered. Nice place to visit, food ok, atmosphere great along with band playing.

Girls night out…our server Gina went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable! Drinks were refreshing(try Pinky on the Brain), and food was on point. Started with their bread and dipping oil…yum! Three of us had the eggplant parmigiana and three had chicken franchise. Both entrees were delicious and filling. Finished off with tartufo for dessert .
Decor inside is elegant but you can dress comfortably. Also outdoor seating looked great…just too hot tonight.
Definitely will go back!

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit & have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose the Blu Grotto for Oceanport, our 117th town.
The Blu Grotto has an indoor restaurant which is more upscale, and an outdoor patio with live music that is more casual fare. We enjoyed a late summer evening with The Nerds playing on the outdoor patio, which is on the grounds of the Monmouth Park Racetrack.
We kicked off with a rum bucket & Kentucky mule cocktails, followed by spring rolls & a seaweed salad for starters. Then had a variety of maki rolls. All was tasty, and the music made for a fun night out.

Dinner here was amazing! We came after mini golf and had a phenomenal meal and Molly took such good care of us. The venue is gorgeous and we will definitely be back all summer!

The food was excellent. My partner had food allergies so they made the gnocchis with a white sauce a la minute. Service was every good. Friendly but on top of things. Only issue was we were left standing at the door waiting for a long time. Staff came and went. Hostess on the phone for an eternity. But in the end. A lovely evening.

I am way overdue in trying Blu Grotto. What a great place. Food was well balanced and delicious. Each plate was expertly prepared drinks were delicious.
Inside was elegant and comfortable. The chairs are super comfy. Outside the Beer Garden was Rockin’ with a live band and laidback vibe. While normally these 2 World’s do not collide, it worked here. I will be back to enjoy it properly another time.
One drawback was the kitchen output. We arrived at 7:15 along with everyone else. This apparently blew up the kitchen and delays were longer than ideal. Note to staff: expect a dinner rush at dinner time. Nonetheless, they recovered nicely and ended on a high note.

Food and service were phenomenal. Management was top notch, wait staff were very knowledgeable. Great location, live music, the works! Highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back!

The food was good but the service of our waitress Keri is the reason we will be back. What a lovely girl with a great personality and smile . My wife and I could have stayed for hours to chat with her that’s how welcomed we felt. See you next time Blu Grotto and thanks Keri!
