I live really close, so have been trying foods here when I can, and updating this review. The menu spice levels in my opinion, are higher than you’d think. If you like a little spice I’d suggest 0 or 1. If you don’t, tread with caution with what you order, haha.

Their interior has casual tables/chairs, and decor is nicely themed for cuisine atmosphere. TV playing scenery of Thailand, etc. A little waterfall with calm vibes.

*Their beef noodle soup (like pho ramen) & Thai tea are so good!
*The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce – yum.
*Another take-out tried green curry with jasmine rice (spice level 1, but spicy for me). It was amazing though, like it was made in heaven.
*Lunch special Tom Kah soup with chicken, to-go. This time tried 0 spice and still had a hint of flavor & heat. Just right. Soooo good!

The food looks and tastes better than the menu. I was happy that the spice level was accurate and not weak. We tried the special mango dish and drunken noodles. Both were good. My only complaint is that the noodles were overcooked in the Pad Kee Mao.

Food – it’s delicious! I always get the Tom Kao soup with a spiciness of 3. It’s a great soup for a rainy day!

Service – Top notch Service

Atmosphere – Clean and had a great feel of being in Thailand!

I ordered $67 worth of food for me and my son to have a rare lunch break/dinner meal together at 6:30 pm at his workplace. We were happy with the food… until we discovered they had forgotten the jasmine rice we ordered. Without the rice we really didn’t enjoy the meal. My son didn’t touch his yellow curry sand I had only a few bites of my Tom Kah.i drive back almost 5 miles and 15 mins in the dark with pouring rain, just to get our rice. I was offered a free tea but no refund of any kind. I’m sure I have no recourse. I know it’s not much too complain about but I’m sad my special meal with soon was effectively ruined. I forgive you I do. If you would have just refunded the price of the rice I would have been a repeat customer.

Very peaceful dinner with my mom. Pas Thai and Sanae fried rice was very very good. Also shrimp in fried was incredible. Would highly recommend getting your Thai food here, if you are in Salem. Also mom had lemonade from menu. Was good but is a bit on the sweeter side.

The restaurant was empty and my to go order was still missing napkins or any utensils to eat with. It wouldn’t have been a big deal but I am at a hotel. The meal size was moderate and the taste was decent. The peanut sauce was great, but 3 dollars for a small container of it. The meat was skimped on in the dish with just a few pieces placed on top. Overall, a decent meal but overpriced and nothing to eat with, not even chop stick.

This has always been the best Thai spot in Salem, and to my surprise it has gotten even better with the new ownership. The food is very good quality, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It’s hard to find good food places in Salem so I am very thankful for this little gem

Finally, a place you can enjoy Thai home cooked meal in Salem!

We ordered fried chicken/sticky rice and som tum. The chicken was made fresh (hence, taking longer time to perfect), the meat was tender and juicy, however the skin was VERY crispy. This was how my grandma made the dish! Somtum or papaya salad was scrumptious. I miss this unique blend of flavors while I am in the USA.

We also ordered pad Thai and pad ka praw which were all authentically delicious.

I was told this place uses palm sugar and no msg. Thank you! We are delighted to have discovered this charming (Sanae) Thai restaurant in Salem.

This has been my go to Thai spot in Salem since it was Hong Thai. I was a little nervous when it transitioned over to Sanae, but it’s just as good! All of the food is packed with flavor and it’s all fresh. Decided to finally give a review today for some exceptional service as I was in a time crunch and showed up before they opened to make my order. I opened the door to see if I could place my order early and they said sure thing!

I hate to write this. I actually preferred the previous restaurant “Hong Thai.” Drove here to order dinner for take-out tonight. Realized going inside that it is now “Sanae Thai.” Decided to give them a try. Was very disappointed. Pad Thai noodles had good flavor, but seemed lacking of sauce and were oily. Ordered mild spicy and felt there was no spice at all. Crab Rangoon were mostly empty inside (see photos). Tofu salad rolls were okay. Peanut sauce is thin. I hope they succeed however, I won’t be coming back.
