Chuck, the owner, and his son Phill (who served us) were absolutely amazing human beings. We had a fantastic time enjoying the food and an even better chat with Chuck!
Cheers and all the very best to you both. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
It didn’t stop there, Chuck began to share his vision and passion for his restaurant and the food he gets to make everyday. There was a sense that he was at home and I felt like I was sitting there sharing in that feeling with him.
Then the first bite came, there was a great bark on my first trial rib. Encrusted, but not dry…tender and juicy meat underneath. It was perfection, so of course I had to get more. I grabbed his 4 rib section along with a piece of his corn bread and coleslaw.
The cornbread was generous and had that rich buttery corn taste you absolutely want when ordering this bread. He had stated, I would love his coleslaw and I absolutely did. Perfectly blended, sweet and tangy with a hint of pepper. Absolutely lovely.
What also was lovely, was Chuck’s passion for his business and the love he puts into his food and his eagerness to send you home happy. Well that definitely happened. Thanks Chuck, can’t wait to come back for another exceptional meal.
If you want really good bbq and the highest level of hospitality. Come to I BBQ 4 U, you will not be disappointed.
Suffice to say, definitely gotta order more in the future. Props to everyone on the team, good stuff for sure.
If you are looking for a meal for one person, you need to spend around $35 – $50 for a single person. Their only reasonably priced meal is their quarter chicken + 2 small sides which is around $16 which I don’t recommend as their chicken is very dry. Anything else is $35 to $50 for a single person. 1/2 lb brisket + 2 sides will cost around $35 which is way too expensive for one meal, especially when other BBQ places charge around $20 – $25 with more generous portion sizes and just as good BBQ that won’t leave you hungry. The first place I looked up (Big Dan’s Smokehouse which is nearby) charges 1 lb brisket for $26 + tax while it is $40 + tax here. I now realize how overpriced this place is, I thought that $40 was the going rate for 1 lb of brisket.
Ended up getting the half pound brisket (with no sides or anything) for $30. After 6 bites, I finished the whole thing in 3 minutes and was just as hungry as when I started eating. Their half sample platter is a little better (around $70 which feeds 2 people) which is still $35 per person but leaves you feeling full and gives you a lot more food for $35 per person.
I also notice that they microwave their food which was a little disappointing for the price they charge and the food that I received was lukewarm at best. The last time I had their sample platter here some of their sides tasted like it was left out and was microwaved but food was still good. I’m not sure if their meats are microwaved as well.
You know how in the movies, often the lead character would have a favorite barbecue joint to go to. And that joint is in some inconspicuous corner, but with the most delicious flavor? And the owner of the joint is often a unique character who says critical lines to inspire Epiphany and move the plot forward?
It felt like that.
After knowing it was my first time coming to the store, they insisted that I sample a few pieces first. I did and I immediately started over ordering. I even forgot to check the price lol. Yes it was that good.
The only thing that is better than the meat is the service. I had such a great time chatting and connecting with the owner and the staff there. You can see how much they love and take pride in what they do. And anyone takes that approach with their craft, has my respect! They are genuine, warm and very, very friendly. The owner gave me a can of Logan berries for free. And my name is Logan!
I don’t understand how they are not nationally famous if not worldly famous. Small businesses like this are the backbones of the community and they deserve way more tax cuts and government funding than greedy big corporates.
I bought some barbecue from a great store . It sounds exaggerated to say these things, but it is not . I left with my tummy satisfied and heart warmed. Thank you for a wonderfully human experience. The city of Buffalo is lucky to have you guys.
Much love and respect!
Logan from Canada.
Between the food, the smell that pulls you in from the street, and the genuine hospitality, this place is the real deal. 5 stars for the experience and 5 stars for the food. I’ll 100% be back and recommending this spot to anyone who loves legit BBQ.
It turned out to be one of the best barbecue spots I’ve ever visited. The ribs were outstanding, and every side—from coleslaw and potatoes to macaroni was equally incredible.
The owner’s son was incredibly friendly, chatting with us throughout our visit and even treating us to samples of brisket, beans, and more. These thoughtful touches elevated the entire experience. We enjoyed great conversations on all sorts of topics.
If you’re hesitating, go for it—you won’t be disappointed. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the USA.
Notsomuch a restaurant more of a takeaway place which was fine.
Fun little selection of sodas as well: Vernors, Squirt, Fanta, and usuals.
I’ll be back for sure.
Forgot to take pics of the food, hahah, it all smelled so good we inhaled it before I could snap a few pics!
