One More Bite Dumpling House – Full Experience Review
Arrival & Atmosphere
We were greeted warmly and seated in the center of the restaurant, right by the entrance. Menus were already placed on the table, and ordering is done by circling items on a printed list—quick and efficient. The condiments are communal and stay on the table for all guests to use; if you prefer a fresh batch, you’ll need to ask.
Service
Service here is a shared effort—everyone helps out at each table, so you’re not assigned a single waiter. Claire assisted us early on and seemed a bit reserved at first, but she gradually warmed up and ended up being quite sweet. Lucas was fantastic from the start—attentive, kind, and welcoming. As the meal progressed, the overall service became more friendly and supportive, and we felt cared for and appreciated.
Speed & Flow
The food was served quickly—almost immediately after ordering. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and ready to enjoy. We took our time and savored every flavor. The entire meal lasted about 47 minutes, which might be a personal record for us.
Tea & Drinks
Only one hot tea option is available: jasmine. It’s floral and soothing, but there’s no honey or sugar substitute offered. Adding lemon and a touch of sweetness would elevate it, especially for those recovering from illness. A wider tea selection—like chrysanthemum or oolong—would be a welcome addition.
We also tried the cheese strawberry smoothie, which tasted like a creamy strawberry drink with extra milk. Bits of ice come through the straw, adding texture. It’s beautifully presented and offers a refreshing contrast to the savory food—even for those who don’t usually enjoy smoothies.
Food Highlights
– Vegetable Dumplings – Multicolored and pot sticker-style. All-vegetable filling, lightly seasoned but delicious. Perfect for respiratory recovery.
– Shrimp Fried Egg Rolls – Three per plate, well-cooked and crisp.
– Crab Pork Dumplings – Served in a wooden basket, beautifully presented. Each dumpling holds a small amount of broth inside—a juicy burst, not a full bowl. The wrapper is thin and tender, and the meat is seasoned to perfection. It’s like a refined soup dumpling. Highly recommended.
– Shrimp Dumplings – Less bold than the crab pork, but still delicious. I made a side of ginger sauce using all the condiments on the table—it doesn’t come that way, but it adds extra flavor to the goodness already there.
– Garlic Shrimp Spring Rolls – Crunch heaven. Crispy, hot, and seasoned to perfection. So good we ordered two more rounds to take home.
– Cheese Strawberry Smoothie – Creamy, milk-forward strawberry flavor with icy bits. Beautifully presented in a lovely color. Even if you’re not a smoothie person, it’s a refreshing contrast to the savory dishes.
– Egg Custard Bun – Soft and pillowy, with a golden custard center. The flavor is reminiscent of sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie—not heavy in cinnamon or spice, but rich in creamy warmth.
– Red Bean Paste Bun – Earthy-sweet, smooth, and comforting. A gentle, traditional dessert to close the meal.
Final Thoughts
The full meal came to $95.07, and it was worth every bite. To be fair, there was 2 of us. And we went there to taste multiple dishes on purpose. Normally, you probably would only spend between 20$ to 50$ dollars. The food was beautifully prepared, well-seasoned, and deeply comforting. It reminded me of coming home in winter with a scraped knee and runny nose, and being handed mama’s warm soup and homemade bread. That’s the kind of comfort this meal delivered.
Would I return? Absolutely.
The only improvements I’d suggest are more hot tea options and the addition of honey for tea. But everything I ordered was perfect for someone with respiratory needs seeking a healing, satisfying meal.
