I drove all the way from Indy for a taste of my childhood, and I honestly wish I hadn’t. This isn’t the Rax I remembered; it felt like a restaurant in its final days.
The Food is “Fake”: My BBC was a total letdown—generic bun, no BBQ or BBC sauce, and zero flavor. To make it worse, the Chocolate Chip Shake didn’t even have the mini chips in it anymore! It was just a basic, plain shake. It feels like they’ve lost the original recipes and are just using whatever they can find at a grocery store.
Safety Concerns: There were literally ceiling tiles falling out of the roof in the dining area. It felt unsafe to even sit there.
The Atmosphere: The solarium was blocked off by chairs. The bathrooms were so bad I didn’t even want to touch the door, and the two-person crew was clearly overwhelmed and upset. I felt bad for them, but as a customer, it was a terrible environment.
I’m so sad to see a classic brand fall this far. If you’re looking for that old-school Rax magic, this isn’t it. Save your gas money.

I love going to old school fast food restaurants. There are only a handful of restaurants left. I got the regular jr. roast beef and the potato skins. The roast beef was average but the potato skins were good. The seating was nice and clean but empty. You can tell this place is not jumping like it used to be. But I love trying out spots like this.

First time in. This is one of my wife’s memorable places, so, while I was in Lancaster I figured, why not? I was so happy from the two gentleman who I saw there last night. There were very polite and courteous. The food was hot and delicious! We were so happy with everything! I wish there were more locations. We have the “other” meat restaurant near to us and I believe Rax would blow them away! Thank you Rax!

We were looking for something we don’t have at home for lunch while in Lancaster, and Rax popped up on maps. My wife said that’s where we should go. I haven’t had a Rax roast beef since the late 80’s, and was very happy with my meal. The staff was very friendly, and we talked about how they’re down to 4 Rax’s left. We got our food and were completely satisfied! I am not a fan of Arby’s (overpriced). We both had lunch and it was $20. I got the big sandwich even! Great horseradish sauce and BBQ sauce. Twisty fries were fresh hot and crispy yet soft on the inside. If we’re in town again, we’ll eat here again.

I had seen the videos of this place’s advertising strategies in its heyday years before I was born. Naturally, I had to see what it’s about.
I don’t think the inside has changed one bit from those days, apart from no longer having the endless salad bar (RIP). This gave it a unique charm that cannot be replicated. Even the lack of background music enhanced my experience. The two employees working there were friendly and had a great demeanor.
The Rax was quite plain compared to Arby’s, however I found their twisty fries to taste much better than curly fries. I liked how they gave some pizzazz by making onion petals and not onion rings.

I’ve loved Rax ever since I first encountered them, since moving to Ohio many years ago. This location has great food, and an atmosphere of days long gone by. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. Unfortunately they seemed very empty when I came in, and I really hope they can get more business soon.

The food at Rax is kinda overrated. I say overrated in the slightest, while the food is good, it taste just like Arby’s, I couldn’t really tell a difference. However I enjoy the aesthetics of this place and the service was good. If I’m passing through I’ll stop, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Maybe next time I’ll get something different.

Ive never come here before & sadly, after looking at the pictures of the menu, prices and of other folks orders, that decision wont change. The food looks cheap & unappealing to my appetite. And those prices!?!…Wack! Sorry Rax, i dont care how good you taste, you lost me. Yawl remind me of Skyline Chili where their food & prices are absolutely horrific
These types of business make me think that some random person with a lot of money, was bored and decided to see how much they could make off the cheapest & fastest food they could find.
You can tell by the appearance alone that theres definitely no love being put into the products they sell. Personally, it doesnt matter how cool they make their locations look. For me, Its all about the quality of service & presentation of the products sold.
And usually, the more love put into the creation of each order, the better it looks, smells, tastes and it makes the customer feel better too.
Rax, im sorry, but I hope yawl do better & i wish yawl the best, regardless of my opinion

We get the barbecue beef. Sometimes they have it sometimes they don’t. When ordering from the drive thru they act as if it is a pain or you are bothering them when you order they are rude. Sometimes you get a good barbecue, sometime it runny or very dried out. When it is fresh me and my husband love them. They are expensive 4.98. Bun is barely covered.
