Wow! I am so incredibly happy my partner and I came across this place! The food was immaculate and everything was clearly made in house and with the highest expertise. Even the complimentary focaccia bread was clearly made in house. It was so crispy and tasty. The food we ordered was some of the best food we’d ever tasted. The Bruschetta, Risotto and Tortellini were all divine and clearly all made in house with the best ingredients. The Tiramisu was the icing on the cake of an excellent evening. We also loved the attentive service and the live piano music as well. Would highly recommend this place if you want a nice, quiet evening with amazing Italian food!

The service was great and our server was very attentive. The environment was really nice and calm. The food was very average:
I got the truffle pasta and we shared the calamari and shrimp appetizer and chocolate panna cotta.
The pasta lacked the truffle flavor and it was very greasy and the sauce was reduced too much. The appetizer was fine however the spice was a bit too salty. The dessert was decent.
Overall you can find better quality Italian food for this price point.

Really liked the spaghetti vongole in terms of flavor. Portion is alil small for me imo 7/10.
Calamri was disappointing. Batter was basically falling off in chunks and the pieces of squid was very meagre. Nice saucee though .6/10
Panna cotta was interesting! Fully chocalate and more of a mousse texture than the slight jiggle you’d expect. 7/10

Atmosphere is abit dingy and old imo. Had abit of a musty basement smell

Tucked away this little gem is a must dinning experience to add to your go to list. We had live piano and such a cost atmosphere. The food was beautiful and service amazing and friendly.

This is an adorable small Italian restaurant with an exceptional level of charm. The menu is reminiscent of my time in Italy with all the hits. Arancini, Cacio e Pepe, tiramisu and a doppio to round out the meal. While nothing can compare to a meal in Roma, this is an amazing option if you find yourself missing the old country while in Vancouver.
The Arancini is well prepared with a lovely balance of cheese and rice. The Cacio e Pepe was perfectly spiced but the choice of rigatoni was not my favorite. I prefer a pappardelle myself, but the flavour is spot on. The tiramisu was very light and flavourful.
The service was exceptional. The attention to the guest is on par with 4 star restaurants in NYC and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine menu.

Came here at 6pm and the place was filled at 630 pm. Very glad we got here before the crowd. Intimate restaurant, with live piano music that was a little bit on the louder side. But wonderful food, service, and ambience. Would def be back again

l Nido in Vancouver is an absolute gem! We came here as a family (me, my wife, and our 11-year-old son) and the pasta dishes completely blew us away. Every forkful was a total flavour explosion – the Amatriciana had the perfect smoky-spicy kick, the carbonara was rich and creamy without being heavy, and the kid’s spaghetti with house-made meatballs disappeared in record time because the sauce was so incredibly tasty. My son actually said “Dad, this is better than pizza!” …and that’s saying something.
But the real star of the show? Hands-down the best tiramisu we’ve ever had in our lives. A product of our Italian server’s mother – a perfect balance of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, silky mascarpone, and just the right dusting of cocoa. It’s so light yet decadent – we fought over the last bite (I let my wife win… this time).
Warm, welcoming service, cozy atmosphere, and every dish made with so much love. We’ll be back very soon – Il Nino just became our new family favourite in Vancouver! Highly recommend!
