Ordered online. My husband goes to get it, it’s 8:19pm and they close at 9. He gets there and they look closed, door locked and cleaning up. After awhile he knocks on the door and says he has an online order, the worker asks if a girl is making it she says yes, and HAS MY HUSBAND WAIT OUTSIDE!!! When they were talking he asked, yoh close at 9, right? And the worker says well depends on busy we are. Well MAYBE they should end online ordering sooner then. We get the smoothies, they’re nasty. Barely blended and watery. I will be calling tomorrow because I’m not even drinking mine and neither is my husband. So unprofessional.

Let me start off by saying that I was happy tropical smoothie Cafe opened up near me. For the past few years at this location I’ve noticed the quality and flavor of these smoothie and food go down. I order the same thing a lot, Pomegranate smoothie and one of their wraps. I noticed there is a high rotation of young employees that should be trained the same but the way every meal and smoothie I ordered tastes different from the last one but it’s the same drink. Sometimes it’s red with the tangy Pomegranate flavor with a hint of bananas, next time it’s light pink and watery with no Pomegranate flavor, food wraps that use to be nicely prepared and cut in half are no more, and the service has come to a slow. Meaning as soon as you walk in you are no longer greeted, they have you standing there waiting to place your order like they don’t see you. I was there today and received the same service and it wasn’t even crowded.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE MORNING, LONG WAIT TIMES, BAD ATTITUDES……. Not worth your: time, money, or good energy! I wanted to keep frequenting this establishment (as I have for years) because it’s black owned, but Once Naiji left there, the customer service became horrible. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where your money is appreciated. Hiring young unprofessional girls with bad attitudes is the first way to ruin an establishment……. You never know who your customer may be

The pepple who work at the front are great but I’m always so disappointed in the food so I’m going to stick to the other location I prefer. I’m the past, they never had all of the ingredients for my usual order so I had to go elsewhere.
Today, I stopped at this location since it was on my way home and the kale apple slaw side I got was literally 2 forkfuls. I don’t expect a huge side but this wasn’t on at all!
I just wish it would get better but I won’t know because I’m not going back.

I normally visit the location at least once a week. However the employees look sad/mean majority of the time. The owner doesn’t speak he looks angry. Just no personality. But there’s one young lady who makes my sandwich whose very pleasant. However she wasn’t there yesterday. To make a long story short. I canceled my order and requested a refund. I’ll try a different location. Please look into customer service training, for staff/management….

The refreshments along with the salad tasty! The customer service is what makes it breaks a business. I must say the ladies displayed excellent customer service and communication skills along with their welcoming demeanor! Thank you Mariah and jaela

I’ve had bad experiences at this Tropical Smoothie on separate days. The first time, I ordered a Thai Chicken Salad and it came with no chicken at all. Then when I came back another day, the same light-skinned girl with wavy hair working the morning shift had her back turned the whole time and acted like she didn’t care. She kept saying things were missing when they weren’t and wasn’t doing her job properly. The service here is lazy and unprofessional. For the prices they charge, you’d expect your order to be right and the staff to at least pay attention. Definitely won’t be returning to this location.

This place irritates me i don’t know why i keep giving them chances on making my smoothie all these new hires standing around and talking. they cant ever make my smoothie how it supposed to be made. i spend almost 10$ on crap! that don’t even taste right they put to much ice and always trying to move fast rushing, always have an attitude. the manger need to stop hiring all these teenage girls and properly train them correctly and stop trying to serve people just anything. they be in there to busy trying to look cute! MAKE MY DAMN SMOOTHIE RIGHT!

Besides the customer service being terrible; I stood in the lobby for about 5 minutes while the associates stayed in the back talking. I had to yell to get someones attention. These Bowls are a joke, they are not worth 10$. They aren’t fresh, completely frozen, you have to wait until they thaw. The bowls aren’t full and there’s barely any toppings on them. You’re better off getting a smoothie.

I don’t spend money at an establishment that shows so much disrespect for their customers that they actually have the audacity to ban paying customers from using their restrooms. Yes, I did also inquire at the register. They couldn’t care less, if they tried. The stench reeking from inside the store is another red flag. I suppose they don’t want to spend on a plumber to address their sewage issue. The terrible online reviews were the first red flags I ignored. If we spend our dollars where they are appreciated, maybe this Tropical Smoothie can be replaced by a Beyond Juicery + Smoothie shop. They don’t use all of the powders and artificial ingredients that Tropical Smoothie cheaps out on. The Michigan Restroom Access Act (MCL § 446.72) says:
“A retail establishment that has a toilet facility for its employees shall allow a customer to use that facility during normal business hours . . . ; Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.3627 (“Toilet facilities”) requires that a toilet or privy seat be provided in a ratio of at least 1 unit per 15 individuals it serves. . .”.
