The Baked Bean is a coffee shop and bakery nestled in the Sunset Hills neighborhood of Mount Lebanon! We are just minutes away from Washington Road in Mount Lebanon and are excited to offer beautifully roasted coffee from Nicholas Coffee in Pittsburgh and offer handmade artisan baked goods from our more than 8 feet of pastry counter. We have limited seating but encourage everyone to stop in and see our space and everything we have to offer including coffee beans, grab and go items, and offerings from other Pittsburgh small businesses!
Reach out to reserve our sitting room for after hours meetings, classes and events!

Well it happened! A brand new coffee shop opened up 7 miles from my house! The grand opening of “The Baked Bean” was on Saturday, the Jan 24th! Welcome! The shop itself is right in the middle of the neighborhood in Mt Lebanon. Friends and I headed over in the morning and when we opened the doors, the line was wrapped around the inside of the shop as more patrons were coming in. Loved the aesthetic of the shop! Charming! Great atmosphere and vibes! As we wrapped around the space inside, that line just continued to grow. I am already spreading the word!
Well done!

Have come here two times already and both times the coffee tasted really good. The first time I got The Yinzer coffee which is a strawberry pretzel and the second time I got the blue devil which is probably my favorite one. Tasted delicious and had a great flavor and the pastries I got both times were delicious and love that I don’t have to go too far for this coffee shop and it’s a walkable distance. Looking forward to going back for more coffee.

The cutest little coffee shop & bakery in Mt. Lebo! I bought way too many treats (which were all delicious) and had the Yinzer (iced with oat milk) which was also amazing! The owners are two of the hardest working ladies on the planet and have truly created something special for the people of the south hills!! Go check them out!

I’m over here crying happy tears because our neighborhood got a coffee shop!!! visited on opening day and was highly impressed with the selection of pastries. We also ordered the iced dirty bird and iced blue devil – both were delicious.
This is a brand new coffee shop, so it’s busy and there is a lot of excitement in the area. Please be patient and make sure you allocate yourself plenty of time. The staff is working super hard, is very friendly, and I’m confident they will work out any kinks along the way.

I was lucky enough to attend a friends-and-family event, and the coffee alone is worth the hype. Thoughtfully crafted drinks, beautifully balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing. The space is chic, the baked goods are elevated and tempting, and even in the middle of the rush the staff stayed warm, engaged, and on it. Everything felt easy, intentional, and genuinely well done. A welcome addition to the area.

This is my new favorite coffee shop and bakery! I drove 40 minutes, from home, to be here on opening day and it was worth the drive! Their drip coffee is incredible, a strong coffee flavor and a smooth finish. There were so many pastries, like macarons, cupcakes, cookies, cake, croissants, and so many more. Also, the place was very cute and clean. The color scheme is bright and inviting. Love what they’re doing. Keep it up y’all!

My daughter and I had a great time stopping in on opening day for lattes and cookies this morning. Simply the best! The coffee, cookies, macaroons and cold case desserts were all delicious and the shop itself is adorable.

Full disclosure: this is my long-time friend Ali’s new spot with her business partner, Hannah – but I’d be raving about it even if I didn’t know them.
I went for the grand opening and was genuinely blown away. The shop is so cute – and the baked goods case?! WOW. Branded macarons, beautifully decorated cakes, and even COOKIE CROISSANTS?! I had one of the Dubai brownie cups with strawberries (so good ) and a quality vanilla latte.
The Baked Bean is the kind of place you immediately want to make your regular stop: great coffee, baked goods too good to skip, and just a really good vibe. And while Ali’s been perfecting both coffee and baking for years, what makes this place extra special is the heart behind it. She’s dreamed about opening this shop forever, and you can feel that care when you walk in the door.
Go for the treats and the caffeine. Stay because it’s run by truly good people. Definitely worth the trip!

Stopped by The Baked Bean in Mt. Lebo and loved everything about it!
My husband ordered a cold brew, and I tried their specialty latte, the Dirty Bird, an almond butter cream latte that genuinely tasted like an almond torte in coffee form. So good, not overly sweet.
The pastries were fresh and delicious with a wide variety of macarons to choose from. The almond raspberry macaron was my favorite. It was soft, flavorful & had the perfect raspberry filling. We also had the coffee cake and banana nut muffin, both light and really well done.
There’s a seating area if you want to hang out, or it’s easy to grab and go. Plus, it’s a women-owned business right here in Mt. Lebo, which makes supporting them even sweeter.
Highly recommend for great coffee, pastries, and a warm neighborhood vibe ✨

The Baked Bean is such a wonderful addition to Lebo! The atmosphere is super cute and cozy, and the staff are incredibly warm and inviting.
The specialty iced lattes are so delicious with great flavors, and their pastry options are incredible. I highly recommend the french macarons and the oatmeal cream pies, but you really cannot go wrong! Can’t wait for this to be a regular visit for me 🙂
