We’re staying at Ft Parker State Park and came to Groesbeck to eat lunch and do some antique shopping since the rain has taking over walking on the trails at the park. Lunch was great, I had the chicken fried chicken and my wife had breakfast. Breakfast is severed all day!!

This establishment was okay. It was not super busy. The waitress was not prompt in service but her personality was great. The food was average but not the best. I ordered the fried catfish and my wife had the patty melt. We will visit again in the future to give them another chance.

Staff is nice and helpful. Food was really good. We got the Groesbeck Red with the Onion rings. That was a lot of food. We split it and still could not finish all the food. Total cost under $20. Plenty of seating with the small country town vibe. We spent more $$ on the Girlscout cookies being sold outside.

A classic small town diner. Amazing, quick service and delicious food. Found this place by accident just driving by. Glad we stopped! If you want a discount, bring cash to get the cash discount, otherwise prices are still very reasonable and it’s well worth the little bit extra to pay with card. They also have natural cut fries, you don’t see those very many places! I pretty much inhaled my food so not much left to photograph.

The joint was hopping at Friday’s lunch run. We got there at about 12:10 so we expected the crowd. The service was very friendly and prompt, the kitchen was a little slow but the restaurant was in full tilt lunch service so I cut them some slack for that. My wife had the Friday lunch special of Catfish (2 x lg fillets) wit homemade fries and a tasty, sweet Coleslaw and 2 hushpuppies. Everything was VERY good except for the hushpuppies which were undercooked and gummy in the middle. The fish was GREAT!
I had the large Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed potatoes and gravy; Onion Rings; Salad and Texas Toast. The potatoes were real, not instant and the gravy was good. The Onion strings were crispy and steaming hot. The only complaint was the batter on the steak was way oversized for the meat and the meat was run through a tenderizer and very thin.
We’ll go again, for sure.

This is our favorite restaurant in Groesbeck. We will drive from Mexia just for a meal here. The fried pickles are so good. The service is great and it is just a down home cafe that you can relax and enjoy great food in this nice community.
