Great little diner. Had one of the skillets and couldn’t have been happier with the quantity and the food.
Service was fantastic, always had plenty of coffee and water.

Service sucked and my waitress was so rude and there was food I wanted to take home with me and her and the busser just took it with out asking and we never been there before and we didn’t know what we wanted and the sever just keep asking us are we ready and we will never be back again ever horrible food and service I’ve been to other places and never had this bad as service ever. We order a chili cheese dog and it just came with chili and got charged for the cheese and my sausage was so like slimy and my husband skillet wad so dry and didn’t really have the meat it offered in it or anything. Super surprised that the place is still running it’s so bad

Driving home enroute from Pines, Indiana to Central Illinois, taking the back roads to stop at Efroymson Prairie at the Kankakee Sands, we figured we’d stumble across a restaurant for breakfast along our way. We didn’t find any until we found Frankie’s Village Restaurant and it was well worth the wait! It has the feel of an old time diner (like my Dad and his family used to own), with a super friendly, attentive staff, great food, and it also is very clean (even the rest room!). I liked that there were friendly locals eating there as well. It just gave me a happy feeling being there! They were even so caring that the cook voluntarily gave my husband 2 extra eggs, just because the yolks broke on the first two (which were all just as tasty). That just tells me the kind of decent people they are and it’s a rare find in today’s world.
We would definitely eat there again along our travels. It’s our kind of place.
