witness tree is a great place to get a view of the columbia river while having a drink. however the negatives: $20/cocktail with automatic 20% tip. secondly the chairs are clearly meant to have a pillow in them as they slope backwards. you cant sit in them and have any type of back support. weird they forgot to finish the decor. thirdly the homemade carmel corn with banana chips were hard due to too much hard caramel. you feel like you’re breaking teeth to bite into it. definitely a pass. its pretty but in the end not worth the price

Joel at The Witness Tree absolutely made our experience. The rooftop atmosphere is beautiful on its own, but his energy, hospitality, and genuine kindness elevated everything. He has such a warm presence and makes you feel truly welcome. You can tell he cares about the space and the people in it. Such a good soul. We’ll definitely be back.

Got to try this spot and it was such an incredible experience! The ambience is beautiful and I loved their cute holiday decorations. Drinks were well-made and the tableside preparations are super fun. The food was delicious; it’s awesome that you can order some items that come from El Gaucho downstairs, like the wicked shrimp. Our server Joel was a gem, he made a point to learn our names and was engaging, attentive, and clearly very good at what he does. My only wish is that we came by earlier in the day to enjoy the sunset from the rooftop! We will definitely be back again 🙂

Joel was amazing, very social and quick to learn our name and made it a fun personal interaction as a server. Granted it was a fast busy Friday night and it seemed the bartender was struggling to keep up and could have benefitted from some assistance. Joel went out of his way to converse and make sure we were taken care of. No food rating due to the fact we ate before arrival I’m sure the food was good from what I seen pass by.

Drinks & Atmosphere are amazing, Joel, our server for the evening was very friendly and so attentive. With all that said we will not be back due to the 20% service fee. If you want to own a bar, restaurant, or hotel don’t pass your fees on to the customer/ consumer… I typically tip very generously, but once that service fee is announced the extra tip goes out the window! Staff have your employer pay you 20 %! This should not be excepted or the norm…

Beautiful view and one of the few places where it’s still comfortable to sit outside with the colder winter weather. Warm headlamps and lots of blankets let you breathe fresh air! Joel was out server and he was fantastic, very attentive and personable. Most of the time these days, service is not bad at all, but also not really notable or a big part of the experience. Our experience with Joel was memorable and definitely created the vibe.
