I was definitely disappointed – the food was fine not great. However, they messed up our order twice. It also too way too long to get the pizza. We didn’t sit down until 1:30pm and the place wasn’t crowded. Proceed with caution
The time we went they don’t have an AC so that’s hard fight with your sweat glands but the service was for sure on the spot and fast. The place was packed when we visit just got lucky that there’s still availability at the bar area. They have an alfresco and indoor dine in.
For parking, it will be street parking and you need to walk to the restaurant. It’s around the corner where the closed road is so it will not be hard to find.
The decor has a modern vibe do it while maintaining a laid-back feel. It’s located in a very pleasant neighborhood and there’s parking easily accessible just a block away.
Emmy Squared Pizza has a very positive reputation for great tasting pizza and while the pizza was great it didn’t particularly stand out when you compare it to other above average pizzas.
Finally the price was shockingly low for such a good pizza, drinks, and impeccable service.
The food was great, the service was quick and friendly, and we both really liked the place. I don’t to to Old Town very often, but this place is worth going back for, and we both intend to do so.
That’s the experience I thought I was going to get.
Unfortunately, it was not
My mother and I ordered a pizza for take out and it was far from good.
I was expecting bigger almost fluffy slices but instead it was dense and thin, not at all what I would expect from this place, and definitely not that detroit style they brag about.
It was also sliced very weirdly, everytime I’ve been its been relatively equally sliced but this was sliced so weirdly, one piece being super small and another being super duper large.
It was in fact a gluten free pizza, and as much as i hate gluten free pizza I did actually like their gluten free pizzas and was excited. So i dont know if yall changed the recipe or the cook was high or what but that wasn’t good at all. we ended up throwing it away before we could finish it and ended up still hungry and had to go to a different restaurant instead.
Unfortunately, there was very little to rave about at this restaurant. The lack of attention to detail from the waiter/bartender was glaring from the start. For example, on a simple to-go order, I paid for an entire bottle of sparkling water. Rather than providing the full bottle or dividing it into multiple take-away containers, he poured part of it over ice into one cup, left the remainder in the refrigerator, and still charged me for the entire bottle.
And it only went downhill from there. We ordered two burgers to go, each of which included waffle fries. When we finally opened our containers during our riverboat cruise, we discovered that the two meals together contained a grand total of seven waffle fries—yes, seven—for two adults.
In short, we paid $50 for two hamburgers, seven fries, and one-quarter of a bottle of water. The manager never reviewed the to-go order, and we didn’t realize how poor the service was until we were already on board and unable to address it.
While the restaurant has strong reviews and the burgers themselves were decent, the overall experience was as disappointing as meeting a beautiful person with poor hygiene: the presentation may look appealing, but the substance fails completely
