First, the most important part: the food was excellent. Everything we had tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared—exactly what you want from a spot that’s been a longtime staple at Mohegan.
The highlight (and honestly the reason I’ll be back soon) is that they brought back the “Tuscan Table” brunch. For $35 per person, it’s a lot of food and a great value for what you get. It’s not a tiny “brunch board” situation—this is a real spread with variety and quality. The table featured steak, salmon, ravioli, pasta, salad, bread, and desserts, and it all felt cohesive and actually good, not just filler. The steak was a standout, the salmon was done right, and the pasta/ravioli made it feel like you’re getting the full Tuscany experience instead of a basic brunch menu.
Now the renovations: they did a really nice job refreshing the interior. The biggest change is the overall vibe—cleaner, more modern, and less weighed down by the older décor. It feels updated without losing the “Tuscany” identity. The space looks sharper, brighter, and more current, and it immediately makes the restaurant feel more welcoming.
One specific upgrade that deserves a callout: the bathrooms have been redone, and they look great. That alone tells you they actually invested in the renovation rather than doing the bare minimum.
From what I could tell, the changes seem to be mostly (or entirely) interior. I didn’t notice anything meaningfully different on the outside, but once you’re inside, it’s a clear improvement.
Overall: great comeback, strong food, and a renovated interior that feels like a true reset.
Between the quality of the meal and the return of the Tuscan Table brunch, this reopening is a win. 5 stars.
We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our 5:45pm reservations on a Saturday night. The place was not at all packed, and there was no issue being seated. Great! We had a show at 7pm and made the staff aware.
Beautiful setting and an upscale dining experience was anticipated.
Our server introduced himself and proceeded to rattle off the 5-7 dishes on the menu that were not available. What? Not his fault but ah, such a bummer.
There was only 1 special offered. The menu is already pretty specifically limited so losing 5-7 choices is huge.
Bread and dipping sauces were brought to table, and while fine, nothing extraordinary.
Sangria and a draft Stella arrived and we placed an order for a filet mignon with asparagus and a spaghetti poppeltine meatballs, “Brooklyn style”. The waiter stated that the pasta was made in house and was so good.
The filet mignon ordered medium rare cut like butter and was outstanding. The asparagus tasted fresh and well seasoned.
The pasta dish with meatballs was underwhelming at best, outside of the portion size. The meatballs had no taste and lacked any texture or spice profile ; the sauce was lacking in quantity and seasoning. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but I could not discern that it was freshly made. Not at all satisfying. There was NO way that the parmigiana cheese grated was authentic..,so disappointing.
Our server said he was new and while he was fine and accommodating, it was not the level of service based on the pricing of dishes and drinks and the reputation of the establishment.
The restrooms were clean and some tables have a peek of the open kitchen.
It is a lovely and convenient setting, but the food and service fell short and we will not be returning.
Won’t be coming back due to lack of service, attentiveness and check-ins. My husband waited 20 minutes for a soda refill. I’ve worked in the industry for many years, managing restaurants in Mohegan as well. Can be so much better, service needs an overhaul. Especially for the money you spend- you expect better service.
I think it’s the 1st time having dinner. It’s a great place for brunch. It’s better to sit outside. Inside is very dark. Our server was very friendly n attentive. We started w the focaccia served warm w amazing olive oil. I was almost full from the focaccia. We had The Cesar salad n calamari The NY strip steak was very good, they hand cut fries was amazing. The pasta w clams is so good. Pasta tastes homemade served perfectly al dente. Chicken parm I heard is very good. I don’t think you can have a bad meal here. Everything is very good.
We arrived slightly later than 7PM but were seated right away. There were still plenty of tables open, even though the resort was pretty busy.
I ordered a cocktail which was not bad. The server seemed to be in a hurry though and spilled a little of it as he was walking as the glass was quite wet when he put it down on the table. I had no issue that I was charged less than the menu for it.
My herbed roast chicken with au jeau and polenta was tasty. The skin was crisp and most of the meat was juicy, but some of it was a little dry. Overall for the price paid I enjoyed myself. I look forward to going again once the renovations are completed.
Service was OK.
Alas, we have dined here in the past and sadly I think it was about the same experience. I try to weight my ratings based on similar tiers or type of restaurant.
While servers were nice, they were very slow to grab plates, offer water, drinks, etc.
We had apps elsewhere but we did have a couple overpriced salads that were pretty good and then it was straight to mains. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was good but definitely question if it was actually burrata (seemed more likely just mozzarella) based on it not really melting. Nonetheless, the flavor was good. The New York was med rare but it is definitely not a steak house level steak. And while you might say this is not a steak house…the price points are certainly in line with one. The New York was tough, chewy, and to be honest seemed like an Outback NY. We also had a broccolini which was basically steamed broccoli with stalks and some sprinkles of pancetta…maybe as advertised so my bad but didn’t make it taste any better.
I wanted it to be better and tried to will myself to having it be better but when the other “fine dining” options are fully booked until after 10 pm on a Sat night and Tuscany has lots of open tables at 8…you do the math.
